Rory is a great name

DramaAlpaca · 29/01/2024 01:29

I tend to think of Jago as a surname.

I love Rory, fabulous strong Irish male name meaning 'red king'.

So, Rory - for sure.

DiscoBeat · 29/01/2024 01:43

Jago. Like Django, which I've always liked. I like Rory too but avoided it with our boys as I was aware that if they couldn't say their 'r's it could be tricky!

Rory.

Others nicer than Jago ..
Pogo
Hugo
Friso
Arlo
Sage
Viggo

Love Jago
I know a 13 yr old one who is lovely

eyeblob · 29/01/2024 06:48

I know a couple of Jagos but live in Cornwall.

piscofrisco · 29/01/2024 07:01

I love Jago

WarningOfGails · 29/01/2024 07:12

I know one Jago, also know it as a surname (live in the SW). I like it more than Rory.

MerryMarigold · 29/01/2024 07:25

I don't like Jago and would put it in a category with Hugo which I also dislike. Very much 'try hard posh'.

Rory is nice. He sounds like a nice person.

Pogo 😂

JemimaNutkin · 29/01/2024 08:18

How about Jory? It's the Cornish equivalent of George and is similar to both names but not quite as popular.

NewYearNameChanger · 29/01/2024 08:25

Jago is a great name, I'd go for that one. The Rory I know can't say Rs so introduces himself as 'Wohwee' and that would put me off using that name.

theduchessofspork · 29/01/2024 16:00

Love Rory!

There are millions though so I’d go with Jago, which is nice

Or Jory - a Cornish version of George

Jerome
Ronan
Rufus
Jacoby
Robert nn Robbie

might be others..

OctaviaRedQueen · 29/01/2024 16:05

Rory.

Thehamsterthatcametotea · 29/01/2024 16:12

Lots of Jagos of various ages here (Cornwall).

How about Lowen, Piran, Jowan, or Ruan if you like Cornish names?
