Currently pregnant with my second, not sure if it's a boy or girl yet, and looking for name ideas.
Last name is Smith so want something a bit different although not too different as my husband likes "names that are names" haha 😂
Boy names I like are Arthur, Rowan, Ivor, Finn
Girl names I like are Morgan, Rosa, Freya
All of these have a reason we can't use them, mainly that my husband doesn't like them! 😂

Morgan is still a boy's name for me.

Dutchess's list looks like copied from a random website.

These would be my next girl/boy names. Our two are both nature names. One tree, one bird. So animal, plant, mineral!!!

Rhiannon.

Rhiannon rings like a bell through the night
And wouldn't you love to love her?
Takes to the sky like a bird in flight
And who will be her lover?
All your life you've never seen
Woman taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised you heaven?
Will you ever win?
She is like a cat in the dark
And then she is to darkness
She rules her life like a fine skylark
And when the sky is starless
All your life you've never seen
Woman taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised you heaven?
Will you ever win?
Will you ever win?

I particularly like Rowan, which can be for a boy or girl. Sorted.

LilyLemonade · 06/01/2024 16:55

The ones you have listed look like good solid names, so I don’t see your DH’s objection from that perspective. Anyway, some ideas:

Frida
Morvern
Meriel

Magnus
Erik
Craig

I am Scandinavian, so I can help with some Scandinavian names.

For a boy
Bjorn (means bear)
Ulf (means wolf)
Torsten/Torkel/Torben (from the Norse god Tor/Thor)

For a girl
Ylva (means wolf)
Sigrid (old Norse name)
Tyra/Thyra (connected to the Norse god Tor/Thor)
Ragna (old Norse name)
Boel/Bodil (from Bothild, an old Norse name)

Onelife2024 · 07/01/2024 22:54

I really like your name choices.

I love Hazel or Seren (Welsh for star) for a girl

How about Evan, Owen or Ioan for a boy?

SomethingBlues · 07/01/2024 22:56

Thank you all for your suggestions, definitely got a few to add to the list! We find out what we're having at the end of the month so hopefully will be able to sway him on some of these!

Also came on to say Rhiannon. Stevie always introduces the song with “this is about an old Welsh witch”, which seems to be what you’re after!
