Sandy, I just think the bear connection is cute!

I always check the meanings of names, and that's a particularly nice one.

Thanks for all the feedback I love the song about Rosanna it is so moving that it could sway me in that direction.

Rosanna!! For sure

SSSandy2 · 16/03/2008 21:48

which one is the family name - if you can reveal it?

MadameCh0let · 16/03/2008 22:05

Ursula has nothing going for it. It's weird, it's ugly, she'll be nn'd the bear.

Rosanna is a teensy bit flouncy, I feel like Myleen Klass should have been called Rosanna. BUT I love Rosie and I love Annie and Anna, so definitely Rosanna has a lot more going for it.

I actually like Rosemary better than Rosanna, even though I prefer Anna to Mary.

Rosemary is less gooey than Rosanna. Rosemary can also be shortened to Romy which is pretty.

Flibbertyjibbet · 16/03/2008 22:12

Yup, my ex mil was called Ursula and she was certainly wierd and ugly

collision · 16/03/2008 22:14

Ursula is that huge purple sea witch from The Little Mermaid!

Horrible.

Rosanna is much sweeter and can be Rosie or Rose as she gets older.

Please dont use Ursuala

No to Ursula. Love Rosanna. Ever since a nice Rugby Player told me I look like Rosanna Arquette (sp) and sang the Toto song 'Rosanna' to me. .......sorry to digress.

No....
I came up with the name after the first 4000 or so nicknames I typed in for my mumsnet registration were rejected as having been used by other members!
Its just a word I've heard around - but never been applied to me! My nicknames at work have been 'hard working hattie' 'dedicated dora' or 'arse licking annie'
pmsl

Ursula the Sea Witch is the first thing that came to my mind too.

OP....have we talked you out of Ursula yet?

WinkyWinkola · 17/03/2008 18:42

Ladette, is Uschi pron. Ooo-shi?

legallybrunette · 17/03/2008 18:56

like Ursula - it is quite a grown up name for a little one, so she'll grow into it. I have a friend called Ursula who is the sweetest person in the world, so that's swaying it for me.

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 17/03/2008 18:59

Like rosanna

Aliway · 17/03/2008 21:06

Hi there, Ursula is the family name but am more swayed towards Rosanna, dh has now offered Mary as another alternative, I am quite keen on Ursula as there are not many of them around, and it's difficult to shorten as I'm not keen on the name Rosie as someone suggested it could be shortened to thanks for all the feedback

lentengrrl · 17/03/2008 21:11

Ursula is cool.

Rosanna is a bit bleurgh.

imvvho

blackrock · 17/03/2008 21:32

i love Ursula. Rosanna Just reminds me of an eighties pop song of the same name.

Blueskythinker · 17/03/2008 21:41

My RL name is Ursula. I love it. I am nothing like a nun, nor am I hard & cold or a sea-witch. My family shorten it to Urshie, which I love, and my DH calls me Ursh, which I love too. Go for Ursula!!!!!!

alswife · 25/03/2008 21:35

My name is Ursula too! And i think it's great - i've only ever met about 3 other people my whole life with the same name.

I get called Urs, Ursh and even Lala (which i'm not too keen on at the moment cos as i get more preggers I seem to look more and more like a teletubbie!)...

It means baby-bear or she-bear, so why disney decided to call that fat tenticled witch 'Ursula' beats me... Ursula Andress is a much better representative - and of course i look just like her

Blueskythinker · 25/03/2008 21:39

I look like Ursula Andress too!!
