One of a kind name for twins!

wandle · 25/12/2023 20:13

It's twins but don't know the genders.

I have the most amazing name. I just love it, it's so unique and I have never met anyone with my name. It's an old greek name that my mum read in a book while on holiday in Greece and was immediately drawn to. It rarely shows in baby name books and is very pretty and easy to spell. I think because of the story and uniqueness I just love it and I want names for my babies which I also love.

Any ideas of one of a kind names?

Ebeneezer is criminally underused.

I also like Clover (from What Katy Did), lovely name, never hear it.

I think I have a similar name but along the lines of Greek/Roman myths etc. what about looking at names from mythology…I like Ariadne, although I know these are swiftly coming into fashion!

I know of a couple. Mums friends DGD and heard it at my hobby in the kids group.

Girls:

Oenone

Odette

Jera

Kyrie (kind of pronounced like Kerry-ay)

Boys:
….. are hard!!!

BingoMarieHeeler · 25/12/2023 20:24

Oh yes I know a young Clover too (and author Clover Stroud). So wouldn’t say that’s one of a kind tbh.

But I also know people with every name I’ve suggested…. One of a kind is basically impossible I’m afraid OP, unless you make something up!

Gaggley · 25/12/2023 20:27

Possibly unusual names I like:

Athena
Rosalind
Philadelphia (found it in my family tree, not after the cheese)
Charity
Magenta
Eden (for a boy)
Rowan
Laurence
Joel
Felix

@OccasionalHope that list looks remarkably similar to my baby name shortlist for both my DC!

I also recommend Boccaccio 's Famous Women as a good source for girls' names, along with lists of saints which are especially good for boys.
