Aurora's Sisters Name

In 2022, I had a stillborn baby. Her name is Aurora after sleeping beauty, as I found myself calling her "my sleeping beauty". I'm currently 28 weeks with our rainbow baby girl. We are so exited for her, but we are really struggling with her name. We were almost going to call Aurora, Willa Louise but when she was born Aurora seemed a better fit so we went with that. But it feels super wrong if we were to call this little girl Willa Louise, as if its tied to Aurora and I don't want this little girl to live in Aurora's shadow. I cannot for the life of me find another name I like. What would you name a sister for Aurora Blythe? 💗

We have a few top names right now! We have Melissa Dawn and Clara Dawn! We chose Dawn as it is a sweet nod to Aurora with her name meaning Dawn but it won't make me sad every time I look at it!

Clara Dawn is beautiful, Clara means bright I believe so a name meaning bright dawn is lovely.

If you love Clara and Melissa have you considered Clarissa?

cloudjumper · 19/12/2023 17:57

So sorry for your loss

When I was pregnant with my rainbow, we seriously considered calling her Iris, which means rainbow. We didn't in the end for various reasons, but still love that name...

GoodVibesHere · 19/12/2023 18:05

Melissa Dawn is lovely OP.

Seamist22 · 19/12/2023 18:17

I love Clara Dawn 🥰

LilyLemonade · 19/12/2023 18:27

Melissa is a gorgeous name!

I like the name Roxane, which means dawn as well.

tempnameforadvice · 19/12/2023 18:35

I was coming on to say Dawn. Dawn or Rose - Rose, as that's what the fairies called Aurora in the Sleeping Beauty film.

I am so sorry for your loss and wish you so much joy with your baby girl.

I also think you should be able to use whatever term you wish, my DS is my rainbow after loss.

Sleepsleepsleep123 · 19/12/2023 19:29

I like Grace.

Sorry for your loss.

Sienna was the name that first sprung to mind.

Could you use Willa or Willow as a middle name?

Stella was the first thing that sprung to mind...

I read your title and without even reading your full post immediately thought Willow.

Madeleine is also lovely. Or Adelaide? Rowan is lovely too. I'm sorry for your loss x

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 20/12/2023 04:37

Aurora Blythe is such a gorgeous name and I’m so sorry for your loss. It really captures the spirit of your beautiful daughter ascending into heaven though, if that isn’t insensitive? I really hope not. How about a name like Beata or Beatrice, with connotations of being blessed, and a second one like Estelle or Stella, meaning star?

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 20/12/2023 04:41

Oh and I forgot one! Miranda means “she who must be marvelled at” and I think the meaning alone makes that name lovely.

IntoDaWoods · 20/12/2023 17:44

Sorry for your loss op. Marissa is similar to Melissa but means 'of the sea' op. So an elements theme but hopefully different enough.

I like Melissa though but just an idea that flew to me.
