Too royal?

If we already have a Charlotte, would it be a big no if we were to name this one Louis? My husband is very keen on Louis (and tbh I really love the name too). No other names really stand out to us. I guess if we really can’t use it then we’ll go with James but we love Louis more (Louis James sounds lovely I think). Another name that my husband likes is George which obviously has the same problem ☹️ please help! x

Tangent, but I once worked with a woman whose two children, born early 90s, were called Ross and Rachel. I always did a mental double take whenever she mentioned them together...

Chalotte and Louis or Charlotte and George are both lovely combinations.
The names are so popular and normal that no none will think you copied but even if they did comment - it is a connection with a positive example of the names..
Yes, like the royals - and they will know how to spell Louis.

I think it’s fine, they’re lovely names. I don’t think most people think about the royals that often and I think they’ll become more irrelevant in the future.

Lovely names and I agree with PPs about the line of succession. If someone had an Anne and Edward, you'd be unlikely to think they were ardent royalists these days.

They are both really commonly used names in both countries, and were well established for centuries before W&K had children. Just use them. It's fine.

Do it. Louis is lovely.
I have a friend with children called Florence and Fred. I thought more people would make reference to the Tesco clothing company but no one has ever

It’s fine.
