Still deciding on names here (4th girl) My OH loves Aya (pronounced eye-a)

Do you like it? Please don't be rude BTW- I'm just asking from one mum to a next.

Gosh, lovely names for your three!

A few suggestions (some on-theme and some not so much), for what it's worth...

Fern (I think another poster suggested this too!)
Rose
Lily
Robin
Fleur
Rue
Sorrel
Lila
Nascha
Heidi
Ania
Svala
Sephora

I don't doubt you'll discount a bunch of these immediately but I hope at least some inspire! Good luck and congrats!!!

It makes me think of an Ayah, as in the Indian nurse / maid. So I'd find it a little weird with another child called India.

I think Bonnie is fine with the other names! As is Mary.

TheSpaceCadets · 29/11/2023 00:32

He likes Aya, you like Mary... Maya?

CallieQ · 29/11/2023 01:16

Not keen on Aya

Anya is nice or Mary

CallieQ · 29/11/2023 01:17

Parsley?

octoberfarm · 29/11/2023 03:01

I love Aya, but prefer it pronounced with the "ay" bit like it would sound in "hay" (without the h, obviously!). But I like it either way!

IWIllDoItNowInAMinute · 29/11/2023 05:32

I don’t like the name.

some ideas that might go with your other girls names:
Saffron
Robyn
River
Flower
Daisy
Iris
Dawn

Olika · 29/11/2023 05:38

I like it.

You can't have an Aya with an India already. Ayah is the name of the indian nurse maids hired by wealthy British families (I remember this from The Secret Garden). That would make for a really bizarre sibset combination.

Maya?
Isla?
Ivy?
Iris?
Ida?
Eliza?

Trying to think of other names with a strong eye sound in them if any of those appeal?

user1492757084 · 29/11/2023 06:27

Aya is not a fave for me, though it is quite nice with your other names.

Willow, Sage, India and suggestions ..
Amber
Ochre
Dahlia
Amaryllis
Rosie
Maya
Marigold - Goldie

SpringIntoChaos · 29/11/2023 07:05

Violet would go beautifully with your other names OP. Violet Mary would be very pretty ♥️

SpringIntoChaos · 29/11/2023 07:07

But not Bonnie...doesn't flow with your names at all as they are quite 'hippie-ish' names and Bonnie is just very 'wholesome'.

This was my first thought too.
Maya is lovely if you want the eye sound and it goes well with the other sibling names.

DuchessOfSausage · 29/11/2023 11:28

Kaia, Raia, Gaia or Anya? Aya too close to Isla, Ava and Hiya.
Mary is lovely

DemBonesDemBones · 29/11/2023 14:09

It sounds more like a noise than a name but so do names like Mia and Evie. What does it mean?

wited · 29/11/2023 14:19

Is she due soon? Clementine or Ivy if so.

maddiemookins16mum · 29/11/2023 18:32

Thea would go nicely with your other gurls.
but Mary is great too.

makeminealargeoneagain · 29/11/2023 18:42

What about nature names like
Daisy
Saffron
Heather
Fearn
Ivy
Holly
Raven

TheShoulder · 29/11/2023 19:57

Aya is a beautiful name but I think it is a bit strange to use it if you aren't muslim or Arabic speaking.

It also makes me think of Ayah, as PP's have said, especially if her sibling is called India.

It doesn't really fit with her siblings names that are all noun names.

If your surname begins with Wren/Ren, Aya Ren... doesn't flow very well and it sounds like a bit like I R N. So, say your last name is Renshaw, it will sound like she is saying I.R.N.Shaw.

peaceinourtime · 30/11/2023 11:21

I have a friend Aysa, pronounced ay-sa, it’s lovely. That could work.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 30/11/2023 16:26

Too much like Hiya. Awful.

eleah · 30/11/2023 20:07

I would assume it was pronounced ay-ah. Still a nice name.

lumpfy · 19/12/2023 11:35

Fearne
Faye
Seren (means star)
Serena
Stella
Bluebell
Indigo

TheBirdintheCave · 19/12/2023 11:44

Aya is out as it doesn't work with India (which I don't agree with as a name anyway but hey ho) due to the reasons mentioned by PPs.

This is a toughie OP as I feel like you've boxed yourself into a corner re the nature names. I think you've got to avoid anything nature themed for number four or the sibset will just sound strange.

If it's the sound your OH likes then Maya or Gaia or Ida could work?
