Jacob, Noah and......

islasoleil123 · 25/11/2023 22:54

Struggling to name a girl.
Jacob, Noah and......

  1. Delilah Rose (Really like but worry about biblical connotations?)
  2. Eve Rose (Too plain and simple?)
  3. Phoebe Rose (Would I be setting her up for a life of wrong spellings of her name?)
  4. Theodora Rose
Look forward to seeing your opinions. Thank you.

More biblical names:
Susannah
Elizabeth
Judith
Martha
Magdalen
Anna
Tamsin
Tamar

Of those already mentioned, I like most of the biblical names. I would certainly want to continue the theme given that your sons both have biblical names.

islasoleil123 · 26/11/2023 10:18

Would really like another biblical name, but I'm not really sure about any girls names. Love lots of biblical boys names but not so much girls names.
I'm not keen on long names that are likely to be shortened. I prefer a given name being the name used, as much as possible.

Delilah is absolutely perfect stop overthinking 😀

ChickenBhunaandChips · 26/11/2023 10:26

Eve, there are soooo many Evies. Love Eva but feel like There are just too many Evies.

Also, every Phoebe/Eve will be a Phoebe Rose. It’s the ultimate filler middle name with Grace and May.

Not a fan of Theodora but love Thea. And I love Theo for a boy.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 26/11/2023 10:26

Prefer Hester to Esther

kezzykicks · 26/11/2023 10:36

Eve Rose

islasoleil123 · 26/11/2023 10:40

Thank you all.
I do love Delilah, more so than Phoebe I think. I agree about Eve blending in with all the similar names.
The only other name I like is Ariel but think it's more male than female and different pronunciations..

I really like Phoebe - it’s sufficiently popular I wouldn’t worry about spelling

I also like the Esther and Naomi suggestions

Susannah
Elizabeth nn Eliza
Lois
Anna / Hannah
Flora
Honor
Oona
Alice
Edith
Eleanor
Claudia
Lydia
Serena
Louisa
Imogen
Marianne

might be others

Delilah is too frilly for me and reminds me of that song. Eve is way too overdone. I quite like Theodora but there are an awful lot of Theodores and Theas - it would be shortened to Thea / Dora / Teddie, so you’d have to be happy with that.

Rose is very overdone as a middle name so you might want to add something else or find something else

Nofilteritwonthelp · 26/11/2023 10:41

Surely Rebekah?

TheScientists · 26/11/2023 10:43

I met a 5yo Martha recently, it really suited her

Ruth would fulfil the criteria of not shortenable. Every Ruth I've ever met (not many!) has been a wonderful woman 😍

MissyB1 · 26/11/2023 10:50

Martha
Nina
Sarah

Sugarfree23 · 26/11/2023 10:56

I really like Sarah but it's a bit close in sound to Noah.
Ruth, Rachel, Miriam, Sara,

Mary and Joan are a bit dated but might be due a comeback?

islasoleil123 · 26/11/2023 11:15

I know Sarah, Rebecca, Hannah, Ruth and Esther, not all good associations so they are out unfortunately.
Martha, is a bit dowdy and hate the pronunciation Marr-fa.

Delilah - why why why? I don't like it
Eve Rose - doesn't flow. Eve nice but Evie overpopular, and lots of Ava, Eva, Ivy, Evelyns
Phoebe - best of the bunch.
Theodora - don't like it. Too many Theos
Look forward to seeing your opinions.
Thank you.

I only like Phoebe. Rose seems to be every other little girl's middle name.

Disregard the middle name for now and look at what goes with the surname

Theoldwoman · 26/11/2023 13:10

Jacob, Noah and Eve.

Some suggestions:

Jacob, Noah and Alice
Jacob, Noah and Isobel
Jacob, Noah and Ivy
Jacob, Noah and Ella

Theoldwoman · 26/11/2023 13:19

Jacob, Noah and Bethany
Jacob, Noah and Lillian
Jacob, Noah and Miriam
Jacob, Noah and Eden
Jacob, Noah and Grace
Jacob, Noah and Ada
Jacob, Noah and Abigail

Wonderlot · 26/11/2023 13:20

Love Phoebe.
So many Evie’s
Delilah reminds me of the song
Theodora is a bit much for me, also hundreds of male Theo’s!
I would go for a different middle name, Rose is very over done as a middle.

Frogsareflyinginfromthewest · 26/11/2023 13:23

Apphia
Kezurah
Athalia
Beulah
Candace
Neriah
Yeah
Zina

Frogsareflyinginfromthewest · 26/11/2023 13:24

*Yael

MerryChristmasToYou · 26/11/2023 13:27

@Frogsareflyinginfromthewest , I know a Yael, and people get her name wrong all the time. It's a lovely name.

Frogsareflyinginfromthewest · 26/11/2023 13:37

@MerryChristmasToYou

Yes, its a beautiful strong name, also can be spelt Jael. Personally prefer Yael.

I also know one too, she is an amazing young women.

DoubleTime · 26/11/2023 14:07

Sarai

SandboxSalsa · 26/11/2023 14:17

Phoebe is lovely as a biblical name.

Jael is a great name but I struggle to get away from the fact she kills someone with a tent peg…

TinklingToadstools · 26/11/2023 14:19

Thea

BigBoysDontCry · 26/11/2023 14:21

Kezia?
