Phoenix sounds way to similar to penis. If I was an asshole kid in school I would call her Penis Jones or whatever your last name is. Plus, have you ever BEEN to Phoenix? God awful city as hot as Hades. Phoenix sucks. The name sucks, the city sucks. No.

I see it as a boys name.
Very difficult to pull off.
You can get away with it if your parents are millionaire rock stars/film starts/ la fed gentry you get the gist.
But anyone not in the bracket seems a bit silly especially if she isn’t very thin, attractive, intelligent, sort after.

No. It's not a proper name and a bit trying too hard to be alternative. She might be a rockstar one day, or one day she could equally be a 45 year old accountant. I like a pp's idea of Phoebe Beatrix and using Phoenix as a nickname but letting her have options in future.
