I love Freya Lillie
Don't like the way Isla Lillie flows, it merges into one word for me but maybe that's just worse with my accent

theduchessofspork · 29/10/2023 08:10

Other than Clemantine they have all been done to death, if that bothers you. Clementine is fashionable right now but a bit twee IMO. I don’t think Lily works in your combinations.

I’d either go for Isabel as the most classic, or Freya as the one that hasn’t been very popular for a wee while (most Freyas are probably teenagers now).

Freya Olivia
Isabel Sophia

Thank you so much everyone. My DH really likes Clementine “Clemmie” or Olivia the best but maybe I can persuade him on some of the other options. The only other same we both like is Sienna but I know not everyone is a fan…

spilltheteapot · 29/10/2023 10:47

They are all lovely names.
However if you choose Lillie please consider spelling it Lily or Lilly - the former being the original and latter being lately accepted. “Lillie” is a bit chavvy if you forgive my
saying so.
Isabelle may spend a lifetime correcting from Isobel.
Isla is very overused, but lovely.
Congratulations.

timoteigirl · 29/10/2023 10:55

Olivia seems super overused. If that is not an issue for you, then use it. But to me Olivia and Isabel, for example, are very different type of names so wouldn't go together. Isla Olivia is good.

Olivia Tiffany

Olivia Hannah

Olivia Georgiana

Lillie - don't like the spelling but wouldn't matter as a second name.

Sophia Eliana

Emily Isabelle

Isobel Nicolette

Sophia

Clementine Ruth

More: Susannah, Juliet, Sofiane, Livia, Linnea, Louisa, Ophelia, Savannah, Katya, Helena, Francesca, Lucia, Natalia, Miranda, Valentina

LambMomo · 29/10/2023 13:02

I like Clementine as the others are all very popular, especially Olivia which is so overused. Not keen on Sienna. Again it just fits under generic popular girls name.

KirstenBlest · 29/10/2023 13:45

Olivia Isabel ok
Freya Lillie - don't like Freya or Lillie. Lily is ok
Isla Olivia -a bit heavy on the Ls but ok
Isla Lillie - too many Ls
Isabelle Sophia - ok
Isabella Sophia - a bit rhymey
Clementine Olivia - ok, Clemmie to close to Clammy
Sienna- not keen
Olive - no

All the names seem overused apart from Clementine, and seem a bit tired.
Babies called Freya in England & Wales since 1996 (darkgreener.com)

Take the middle name out of the decision and go with Firstname Surname

Kt4u · 29/10/2023 14:08

Thank you, it’s funny because I actually know more baby Clementine’s than Olivia’s 🫣 So difficult to choose…

OP posts:
KirstenBlest · 29/10/2023 14:23

@Kt4u , Clementine is on a fairly steep upward rise in popularity.
The other names have been popular for ages, so by the time she'll be going to work, she'll always be one of many Olivia/Sophia/Freya/Izzys.

Sienna went from being #427 to #70 in 2 years. Something to do with Sienna Miller, I expect.

I like Isobel, Freya, Olivia, Isla, and Clementine from your list even though they're quite popular names. They're popular for a reason.

I like Sienna too.

I wouldn't use Lily at all. I think it has become really overused and also a bit insipid and wispy, imo.

Isabel Clementine

Freya Isabel
Freya Alexandra
Freya Clementine

Clementine Isabel
Clementine Isla
Clementine Alicia

Olivia Clementine
Olivia Isabel
Olivia Florence
Olivia Francesca

Isla Eleanora
Isla Clementine

Sienna Olivia

Esme Olivia?

if DH likes clementine maybe he’ll like Delphine - similarFrenchy vibe

KirstenBlest · 29/10/2023 18:23

They're popular for a reason.
Names like Gladys and Beryl were hugely popular once

Kt4u · 29/10/2023 20:30

Really? Top 10?

OP posts:
Kt4u · 29/10/2023 20:32

Can’t use Esme and unfortunately my husband isn’t keen on Delphine but thank you, it’s a lovely name

Thanks so much - so many of these sound great to me!

I think Freya, Olivia and Isabella are the most common but really nice! I think less common middle names would contrast nicely such as:
Freya Eva ….
Freya Annabel…
Freya May ❤️….
Olivia Jamie ….
Olivia Beatrice…
Olivia Paige❤️…
Isabella Cait..
Isabella Niamh…
Isabella Juno ❤️..
hope u find the one for ur precious child!

miniaturepixieonacid · 08/02/2024 08:54

I like Isabelle Sophia and Clementine Olivia the best.

If popularity bothers you, I teach an Isadora and a Clemency at the moment which are both similar but pretty rare. But then I don't think they're anything like as pretty as Isabelle and Clementine - generally, popular names are popular because they're great names!

OctaviaRedQueen · 08/02/2024 11:35

I really like Clementine Olivia. Just be careful about what the initials spell though, if your surname is Watson for example, I’d say pick one of your other combos.

Freya Lily is my second favourite.

Need help picking my baby girl's name. We're first-generation here and not sure which name would be modern. We want to ensure she doesn't get bullied in school. Thank you! We're also open to your suggestions for short and easy names.

Eva
Leah
Myla

thank you.
