Hi everyone! I hope you're well. I wanted to ask you guys for your input, after some consultant work with my husband, we agreed on Rhye Remore for our boy.(pronounced re-mor-ay).

What do you guys think? 🙏

I'm not keen on the R R

Bobtheamazinggingerdog · 28/10/2023 21:36

is it from a specific culture? I've never seen the name remore before and not sure people will pronounce it correctly (though it doesn't matter really for a middle name) why the spelling of Rhye? Rye would be ok. Rhye is not a great spelling.

thesnailandthewhale · 28/10/2023 21:36

I like Rhye, that's unusual. Remory makes me think of Joeys character Drake Ramorey from Friends Confused

NashvilleQueen · 28/10/2023 22:40

I'm afraid my instinct is to sing 'when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie that's Ramore'.

WithTheHatToMatch · 28/10/2023 22:41

Dr Drake Remore.

SleepingStandingUp · 28/10/2023 22:47

Rhye Remore - is this first and middle or first and surname?

They isn't my personal choice but I think it's fine. Prefer Rhys and it's possible people will think it's a typo but once you've told them how to say it, it's fine. Same with Remore. I'd pronounce it Re-more. Don't like it but as a middle name, who cares what people think?

BlowingInTheWind82 · 28/10/2023 22:49

Wtaf?! Sorry not to be rude, but is this a joke?

BlowingInTheWind82 · 28/10/2023 22:49

PS I do know a Rai!

Whalewatchers · 28/10/2023 22:51

What's wrong with all of the names in the top 100 list?

Purplecatshopaholic · 28/10/2023 22:53

Say what now? Sorry, but you are joking right…? Rhye is probably just about ok, but Remore? Come on! I guess if it’s a middle name, no one need know? @thesnailandthewhale and @NashvilleQueen have nailed it - really sorry op.

JobMatch3000 · 28/10/2023 22:54

What is wrong with Ryan?
(Could shorten to Rhy).

StarlightLime · 28/10/2023 22:56

Back to the drawing board, op... Assuming this isn't a joke?

Snowdropcow · 28/10/2023 22:59

OP of you like a name keep it to yourself until the baby is born and named. Everyone will dissect the name until you hate it.

For what it’s worth, the name is unusual and I’ve never heard anything like it. However I do like it! Sounds like a niche film director.

Jewelspun · 28/10/2023 23:00

Rhye Remore? Is that a first and middle name?

Hideous.

Sounds like someone with a lisp mispronouncing something!

IWasFunBeforeMum · 28/10/2023 23:02

Consultant work with my husband? You mean you talked about it 🙄 and the name is terrible.

WhereDoYouGo1 · 28/10/2023 23:03

Rhye pronounced Re? Why?

Yep.

The OP is taking the piss.

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/10/2023 23:03

As long as you're happy OP.

determinedtomakethiswork · 28/10/2023 23:04

Babe, you can't just make up names. Your name isn't made up is it?

Snowdropcow · 28/10/2023 23:07

“Babe, you can't just make up names. Your name isn't made up is it?”

Tbf everyone’s name was made up at one point.

Yes well all words were invented at one point, but it doesn't mean if somebody started to speak their own language that they'd made up themselves that anyone else would understand it.

Robotalkingrubbish · 28/10/2023 23:15

Your child will spend his entire life having to spell his name. 🤷‍♀️

steppemum · 28/10/2023 23:15

Well my initial thought is that I don't know how to pronouce either of them.
Honestly, giving your child a name that no-one can spell or say is really a pain, and you will quickly get sick of it always being said and written wrong.
They can't even default to their middle name if that is the same.

I think if Rhye is pronounced Rye, then spell it Rye.

RachBakesCakes · 28/10/2023 23:18

I like Rhye, it's different in a good way. Remore is different in a bad way, sorry OP

MissHoollie · 28/10/2023 23:18

Might be a plan to wait until the hormones settle and have a rethink
