Thoughts on these boy names?

Posted previously looking for names to go with two brothers, Finn + Lucas.

This is our short list -

Emil
Axel
Ivo
Adam
Cole
Mathias

What do you think? Very much open to suggestions...

@Mayhemmumma Yeah maybe we are trying too hard... we have a Danish connection and thought we could tie the name in with that but it's not easy.

I like Adam, Mathias and Axel.

I'm not keen on Ivo, and especially not Cole.

I'd avoid Jacob and Joshua as they are hugely popular.

What about Erik, Joel or Rory?

@ChimneyPotter Ah this is really nice to read and I am glad your friend went for it! I personally wouldn't mind explaining the reasoning and our close family/friends would understand the choice. I just think something in my gut isn't quite "YES this is the one".

@AdaColeman I appreciate this! My OH likes Erik and we both like Rory... it was actually a possibility for Lucas so maybe one to add back on the list 🤔

Adam is my favourite of your list by a long way and goes beautifully with the style of your other names.

I like Adam form your list

How recent in the family tree is this Danish connection? You could choose a family member's name as a middle name. I think Adam is the only name in that list that 'goes' with your other sons' names. Their names are traditional names used in the UK so I'd go for something with a similar vibe.

Out of your list, I think Ivo goes amazingly with your other boys!

I like Ivo and Adam.

Adam is far and away the best, both in its own right and to go with Finn and Lucas. I agree with PP that Emil is a lovely name but just doesn't work in English.

The only name that remotely goes with the other two is Adam.

But then he will be seen as a person in his own right so of course this is only a consideration of how you feel about it while they're tiny!
