I love it, but I did give it to my youngest as her middle name.

Carouselfish · 04/10/2023 19:49

I like nn Caro. And I like Carolina. Not sure about the line part of Caroline. Carolyn perhaps.

FuckingAnnoyed · 04/10/2023 19:56

👍

It’s practically the same name
It comes from Charles too and has the same meaning, just a different vowel on the end and slightly different origin (Latin vs German)

Edited

Much prettier though. It’s not just the a on the end it’s the eena sound vs eyen.

Also it’s not so dated.

Huh, I’ve always pronounced Carolina as Caroline-a, like the place. I know a Karolina who pronounces it like -leena, but she’s foreign

Yes 👌

BrandyandGinger · 04/10/2023 21:41

It's lovely and absolutely perfect with Hazel.

Oysterbabe · 04/10/2023 21:41

I like it. I know a lovely Caroline. I do call her Cazz though.

HuckleberryJam · 04/10/2023 21:42

I love it

MissDollyMix · 04/10/2023 21:44

I don’t love it. There were a lot in my year at school so I suppose I see it as quite dated/plain. I know in reality it’s quite classic so can see why others like it. I think she’d get irritated by people teasing her about the song though.

Queucumber · 04/10/2023 21:44

I think it’s dated. It was very popular from the 60s to the 80s. Maybe it’s due a comeback.

StinkerTroll · 04/10/2023 21:48

Don't do it! (Working on the theory my real name isn't Stinker Troll any guesses as to what it actually is?). It doesn't get shortened to Carrie or Caro, it becomes Caz (which is horrible!)

CharlotteMckenna · 04/10/2023 22:01

Caroline is lovely, nn Carrie for short.

I have a long distant aunt called Caroline and she goes by 'arrow' or it might be Aro, for short. Super cool. Well I think anyway.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 04/10/2023 22:27

Yes really lovely 😍

Runninghappy · 04/10/2023 22:36

I’m not keen on the name particularly, but my two best friends are called Caroline, so on that basis I’d go for it!

LadyMcLadyface · 04/10/2023 22:38

Those names go beautifully together!

momtoboys · 04/10/2023 22:39

Absolutely LOVE it! And also love Hazel!!

DemBonesDemBones · 04/10/2023 23:07

No.

JaninaDuszejko · 05/10/2023 06:10

Love Caroline. I think it's perfectly possible to avoid horrible nicknames as an adult, I know plenty of Alexandras, Jonathans, Elizabeths, etc who only go by their full name.

Well that’s not common. I know several Carolinas and they’re all leena.

The only time Caroleyena is used generally is for the US state.

Bbq1 · 05/10/2023 09:38

Objectively, yes. I know an adult Caroline whi is known as Caz. She's very self opinionated, loud, self important and attention seeking but if i remove her from the name, it's okay.

LethalToddlerElbows · 05/10/2023 09:47

Yes definitely. To me it’s sweet and classy. I think it’s difficult to find a girls names that work well on toddlers and children but also work for adult women but Caroline is both. I love Cara and Lina for nicknames too.

lenalove · 05/10/2023 10:16

Makes me think of my DM's generation (now in their 60s) but definitely not a bad thing! Definitely due to make a comeback, I say go for it 😀

Yes. Sweet.

😂

Longdarkcloud · 05/10/2023 15:39

Lovely classic name that’s stood the test of time. No doubt it will make a comeback in about 20 years. Goes well with Hazel, too.
