Clover Danielle is my imaginary child's name

Gillstuck · 02/10/2023 18:46

How about Clodagh instead? A beautiful Irish name.

Missingpresumedhidden · 02/10/2023 18:48

The poor Clover I went to university with was plagued by 'is that because you spread easily?' from a certain group of 'bantz' loving idiots so I would avoid it but perhaps that 'joke' has died out now.

Ok in the nicest way possible, in case no one is willing to tell you this is real life.. you might just be able to get away with Clover as a middle name, but not as a first name. It might be quite sweet for a baby, but that baby will grow up. Imagine introducing yourself at the age of 40 as Clover - it’ll make her sound like a cow!

I disagree, I’m 57 and a college friend had a younger sister called Clover. Clover must now be around 54. I’ve always thought it was a lovely name, she had a large birthmark over her eye which I wondered was the reason for her name, but even if it wasn’t she was a lovely warm girl and it suited her perfectly

Boxer

Mailys · 02/10/2023 19:48

Love the name Clover! Would definitely be on my name's list of we had another!

UsingChangeofName · 02/10/2023 22:58

Only popping on to check someone has already suggested Flora.

Then dc3 could be Lurpack.

Highlyflavouredgravy · 02/10/2023 23:05

Clover is either a cow's name or a butter substitute. Please don't burden a poor child with it.

JamSandle · 02/10/2023 23:09

Clover Alice
Clover Keira

Uggghhhh · 02/10/2023 23:10

I think a one syllable middle name would be nice.

Clover Belle
Clover Blue
Clover June
Clover Jean
Clover May
Clover Anne
Clover Maeve

pnutter · 02/10/2023 23:11

Just Clover
I love it

ballsdeep · 02/10/2023 23:12

Exactly. You might as well call them anchor spreadable

WhamBamThankU · 02/10/2023 23:13

Daisy or spreadable. It's a cows name.

I immediately thought of a cow 🐄. Buttercup and Clover 🍀.
I think I'd go for Chloe instead.

JamSandle · 02/10/2023 23:25

Dove Clover
Clover Hermione
Clover Christina
Clover Millie
Clover Eleanor
Clover Florence

theduchessofspork · 02/10/2023 23:41

I do think the cow connotations are a bit strong as a first name. I know Clover Stroud pulls it off but I don’t know everyone would.

Fine as a middle name though

theduchessofspork · 02/10/2023 23:41

How about Cleo?

Medlady · 02/10/2023 23:51

Constance Clover

or vice versa

Theoldwoman · 03/10/2023 00:20

Clover Rhiannon
Clover Dyani
Clover Frances

Lucille Clover
Xanthe Clover
Willow Clover

CallieQ · 03/10/2023 01:23

It's an unusual name but the only Clover I have heard of is very successful.
Lord Mayor of Sydney (and previous roles) Clover Moore AO.

Justyouwaitandseeagain · 03/10/2023 04:31

If using as a first name, perhaps have a more common second name in case they want to have an option to go by that in the future. Or perhaps a more traditional family name?

Clover Elise
Clover Odette
Clover Alexandra
Clover Iris
