Impressions of the name Kaylin for a girl?

In these past few weeks new names are starting to come to me all of the time. I guess now that things are coming closer my mind wants to go through all of the possible choices.

Kaylin isn't completely new, I liked it when I was a teen, but haven't thought about it in ages. I do think it's pretty.

Is Hazel Kaylin too much of a clash in styles? Which spelling of Kaylin do you prefer?

Works well if your surname is Kardashian.

melmonroe · 02/10/2023 10:18

Another vote for 'and morphine' evil stuff 😂

CarriMarie · 02/10/2023 10:23

Hazel Caitlin sounds nice.

Our US neighbours had a daughter called Kaylin (southern state, but no trailer parks were involved). Took me a while to realise she wasn’t a Caitlin.

Berlinlover · 02/10/2023 11:14

I worked with a man called Kaylan, I’d never heard of it before that.

Bearpawk · 02/10/2023 15:02

Nope.

OrangeBlossomPretty · 02/10/2023 20:06

I don't like Kaylin. Hazel is lovely.

OrangeBlossomPretty · 02/10/2023 20:06

Caitlin is lovely too.

OrangeBlossomPretty · 02/10/2023 20:07

Kaye / Kay just sounds like a 60 year old bank clerk or receptionist in the 1980's.

Kaylin sounds made up.

Another vote for Caitlin. I think it's a pretty name and it also has the advantage of being unusual without being either dated or whacky.

It really isn't a made up name. A quick Google would tell you that.

It's a lovely name OP but people will stick a t in the middle.

mathanxiety · 02/10/2023 20:19

Would you like Keelan? It's an anglicisation of the Irish name Caoilfhionn.

Keely? Kayleigh?

I'm not keen on Kaylin. It comes across as wannabe Irish, as if you realised that Colleen is an anglicisation of 'cailin' and decided to pronounce it the way you thought it should be pronounced. (This is how Kaitlyn/ Caitlin, pronounced Kate-lin, came about).

theduchessofspork · 02/10/2023 23:47

Kaylin sounds made up and grim, like Kayleigh

Caitlin, Catrin are both nice. Just Kay is fine.

WhatWillEyeCallMyself · 02/10/2023 23:53

I would think you were saying Caitlin but dropping your T's. Not keen.

marthawashington · 03/10/2023 00:20

I know two Kaelyn's (pronounced like Kaylin). It's a pretty normal name in the US.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 03/10/2023 00:20

Kaylin reminds me of a nasty medicine.

peaceinourtime · 03/10/2023 09:35

It looks like it should be Kay or one of the spellings of Kaitlyn, Kaitlin or Caitlin.

MariePaperRoses · 03/10/2023 10:04

I just think - Kaolin and morphine.

Longdarkcloud · 03/10/2023 14:28

What about Kalinda. or Kaye

MargotBamborough · 03/10/2023 15:58

Caitlin is much nicer.
