What is your favourite boys name?

May I ask you just to post your all time favourite boys name? We're very early days but DH & I have been throwing some name ideas around, there are quite a few we like for girls but for boys most of our favourites are ruled out for one reason or another.

We'd love some inspiration from real people rather than the internet lists that all seem to be the same!

Ps.. DH is Scandinavian so Scandi names are welcome. Our favourite girls name is a Scandinavian one.

Thanks Smile

I like Henrik / Henrick too @nobleisle. It's my friend's husband's name but they live on the other side of the world so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I guess!

We've also put Fredrik and Matthias on the list tonight. NNs Fred / Matti as appropriate.

Ooh I really like Finn. I'd always thought it was Irish but Google tells me it's (also) Old Norse...

Benjamin

I really like Benjamin but it's the name of a close family member's boyfriend which might be a bit odd.

That's the kind of reason a few of my favourite boys names are ruled out. I love the name Evan, but my ex's surname was Evans... Hmm

mumtotwox · 02/10/2023 11:59

@FoleyHuck We have a Danish connection and there are quite a few Finn's there! I'm following your thread as we are needing a name for our third boy 👀

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 02/10/2023 17:34

Fave name is international classic William - but I think it's top 10 throughout Scandinavia so you probably don't want something that popular. Also love similar Alexander and Thomas - but again, very popular everywhere.

I also like Elias (especially with the Scandi pronunciation) Erik, Mads/Mats, Soren, Magnus, Lars, Anders and Leif if you want (slightly less popular) Scandi style .
