…I hate that the nicknames are so popular.
there are so many children called Teddy, Freddie, Alfie, even Vinnie, that I feel like even though the names I like aren’t common my son would get lost in the sea of them anyway.

Any name suggestions for me based on the style?

Edwin/Eddie/Ed

Thatsmorethanhalf · 12/09/2023 17:29

Names always get shortened at school which is why I chose one syllable names in the end

Beautifulsunflowers · 12/09/2023 17:29

You need to go for short names, 1 syllable

John
Mark
Max
Seth
Saul
Hugh

or 2 syllables with less chance of nn
Percy
Oscar
Liam
Hugo

Ned can be short for Edmund. Or would you rather not a shortening?

Edwin and Eddie instead of teddy

BBno4 · 14/09/2023 20:32

Edmund reminds me of the snake brother in The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe.

KellyanneConway · 15/09/2023 19:14

Just call Vincent, Vince as a nn rather than Vinnie?

Nohj · 15/09/2023 23:16

Thank you for all the suggestions, we like Quentin and Francis.
His elder sister has a three syllable name - think Josephine. We intended to call her Josie, but have always called her the full name. We accept though it will get shortened in future and picked a name where we like the obvious nickname!

I love Christopher, like Kit but not Chris…

Surname is Lloyd.
