Looking for opinions on Wynn for a boy? It's on our list for a boy.

Not a fan of Wynn, but adore Wyndham.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 08/09/2023 22:33

Wyndham is nicer.

Very common name especially in Welsh speaking areas (probably not an issue if you are not in Wales but I can't imagine using the name if you aren't!). From experience it can be mystifying if you move to England. Be aware that if you are in West Wales approx 95% of people (male and female) have it as a middle name which means that quite a lot of the men use it as their known name due to Welsh Name Rules (mam edition).

Ps if you use it please spell it with just one N. Don't know why but I only like that way and it's very important to take my wishes into consideration when naming your child Grin

Where I grew up, it was a very common middle name, and fairly unused as a first name, but the ones who had it as a middle name used their full name or both first and middle names. It seemed to be a thing to have all the children in the family to have Wyn as a middle name and be known as Dylan Wyn, Carys Wyn etc even within the family

Very nice. Spell with one n though.

Santanderfall · 09/09/2023 09:45

Lovely.

I like it- I know a Win (nn for Edwin) and people are a bit “eh” when it’s first said but it’s really grown on me!

Banned4life · 09/09/2023 11:08

Absolutely love it!

Ivebeentogeorgia · 09/09/2023 11:10

i know a few people called Wyn although no kids with it as a first name. Loads with it as a middle name (girls and boys) as pps have said, very common in wales. Nice name

TeeBee · 09/09/2023 11:15

Wyn is a lovely name

I like it too. Just as well really as it’s my middle name! Spelt Wyn

KirstenBlest · 11/09/2023 23:09

Maybe you should go compare it with other names. It's better than Gregg though

wobblyweasel · 11/09/2023 23:13

Lovely name! It's DP middle name (spelt Wyn) and also DDs (spelt Wynne)

KirstenBlest · 12/09/2023 00:06

Wyn is the usual spelling for the middle name for boys and girls. Wynne is a surname.

Maddy70 · 12/09/2023 00:46

Lovely Welsh name

CallieQ · 12/09/2023 00:47
