Grace?

Jomummy1013 · 27/08/2023 23:42

I have found out today I am expecting a baby girl! I know Grace is done to death but I adore it. My three children (2 girls, one boy) all have classic and timeless (some may say boring!) names. All their names are in the top 20.
I want to call her Grace Francesca. Francesca is a name her father likes.
Any other suggestions welcome!

I think Grace Francesca is lovely

Kpo58 · 27/08/2023 23:45

Grace is fine as a first name. It's only been done to death as a second name.

ciakace · 27/08/2023 23:47

Grace is lovely, Good as a stand-alone but can be short for Gracie, gracelyn .

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 27/08/2023 23:48

Why not Francesca Grace?

Like you say, Grace as a first name is so overdone

mrsmacmc · 27/08/2023 23:49

Beautiful name 🥰 Grace was on our list for DD

Berlinlover · 27/08/2023 23:50

I’ve always loved the name Grace.

Whatsthepoint1234 · 27/08/2023 23:51

I like Grace, both my ds’s have ‘boring’ names but they will never have to worry about mispronounciation or spelling their names out. If you want a slightly less popular name what about:
Flora
Jenna
Clara
Susie
Joan
Molly

It really is not. I have met one Grace on my whole life and she is 55. As a secondary, it is is so boring and filler-ish, but as a first name it is not v usual and lovely.

Grace Francesca is amazing - lovely.

RuthW · 28/08/2023 07:05

Lovely name and not many about now. Graces are 16-25 here.

Yoghurtpotsatdawn · 28/08/2023 07:14

I think Grace Francesca is a beautiful, timeless name. Also Francesca Grace if you wanted to reverse the order.

PurpleChrayne · 28/08/2023 07:15

The sound of the name Grace is so ugly despite its pretty meaning. Sounds like scraping across a dirty floor.

Well aren't you a joy this morning!!

Grace is a lovely name. I only know of one age 6.

PurpleReindeer2 · 28/08/2023 07:25

Grace 🥰 love it.. Timeless.

EinyLinky · 28/08/2023 07:40

I LOVE Grace, it's definitely my name for a baby girl and Grace Francesca is really nice!

Grace as a middle name is way more overdone

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 28/08/2023 09:25

@EinyLinky

Who uses their middle names though?

Francesca is a much nicer name

Thank you all. I do like Francesca as a first name but not keen on the shortening Fran. I am glad that Grace Francesca has a mostly good view, but my sister middle name is Frances and she hates it, I can imagine her saying wtf for my middle name choice! XxGrin

Love it - go for it. I'm mid 50s and know no one called Grace either adult or child .

BoleynMemories13 · 28/08/2023 10:08

Well if your other children all have classic, popular names I'd say Grace sounds like the perfect choice to go with them.

bakewellbride · 28/08/2023 10:11

I love it and it's beautiful but to me personally it's a bit of a gamble name. If the child isn't graceful she really isn't going to suit the name at all.

FayCarew · 28/08/2023 12:14

@Snugglemonkey , the stats say otherwise. Babies called Grace in England & Wales since 1996 (darkgreener.com)
