Hey, what some names that remind you of specific seasons (aside from Autumn and Summer)? Like maybe Holly or Noelle for Winter?

Also, how do you feel about seasonal names being given to babies born out of the season for example Noelle given to a baby born in June or June given to a baby born in November.

Christmas: Holly, Ivy, Noel, Noelle, Noella, Natalie, Carol
New Year's Eve: Eve

Seasons: Summer, Autumn, Winter, Solstice

Months: April, May, June, August, Avril

Days of the Week: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday

...

Some of the names might have different origins.

I think it's a bit naff and it must be a PITA to get comments like 'no need to guess when you were born, ha ha'

A bit cheesy but not worse than Yöunéek names.

KirstenBlest · 15/08/2023 11:11

Not as bad as Yöunéek names, but a lot of them aren't particularly nice.
There are a few welsh names that seem a bit strange if you birthday isn't particularly connected. Eira (snow), Eirlys (snowdrop), Mai (May), Hefin/Hefina (June), Haf (summer, Medi/Medwyn/Medwen (September), etc

iliketherainyouknow · 15/08/2023 11:49

Unless I LOVED the name I wouldn't use one with strong associations to a particular season.

KirstenBlest · 15/08/2023 12:06

The names generally aren't that great, and I think they're a bit like the parents couldn't think of anything else.

There are names that 'feel' like certain seasons to me but thats more of a random impression than a child being called April.
The traditional season names like Holly, Noel etc I wouldn't notice if the child was born in the 'wrong' season, hopefully they will be around to enjoy all seasons and a birthdate seems kind of insignificant to me.
