Hi all, we have narrowed it down to:

Charlotte
Lily
Ruby

Which do you like best? I’m leaning towards Charlotte as I think it’s so pretty if a bit dull? Thanks

Yes, Charlotte.

Cantdecide20 · 13/08/2023 16:39

Just to add, the middle name will likely be Gladys after my Nana - not everyone’s cup of tea but it means a lot to me.

I’m not keen on Charlotte at all.

I do like Lily but it was popular over 20 years ago where I live and has got more and more popular since then. I think it might have dated now.

I like Ruby and I’d probably go with that.

panko · 13/08/2023 16:40

Charlotte Gladys is beautiful

cptartapp · 13/08/2023 16:42

Charlotte.
Lily is a bit wet and Ruby.....er no.

TaigaSno · 13/08/2023 16:56

I would only use Charlotte if you also like Charlie and Lottie, which she will inevitably end up as at school if not sooner!

I love the name Ruby! Ruby Gladys sounds perfect to me. Lily Gladys also nice.

I do also love the name Gladys too!

Mumofgirls2017 · 13/08/2023 17:33

Lily

bingojuice · 13/08/2023 17:35

Charlotte definitely

golddustwomen · 13/08/2023 17:36

I'm a Charlotte and no body has ever called me Charlie or Lottie.

It's 99% of the time Charl.

As it goes I would pick Charlotte from your list!

MalibuBetty · 13/08/2023 17:36

Ruby

DuchessOfSausage · 13/08/2023 17:39

I was going to say that the 2 Charlottes I know are Charl (Sharl) apart from one who has always been Lottie.

CastleTower · 13/08/2023 17:41

Of those, I'd choose Ruby. Nothing wrong with Charlotte, I just don't like the sound much.

AdaColeman · 13/08/2023 17:57

All are lovely names, but my all time favourite is Ruby ❣️ ❣️

Hazelnut9 · 13/08/2023 18:00

Charlotte

UltramarineViolet · 13/08/2023 18:03

Charlotte is a classic and has been in quite common use for past 40 odd years and still very possible so likely to date better than Lily or Ruby

Yes, there are a lot of them about but it is a very pretty name

I know plenty of Charlottes who are never called Charlie or Lottie

shoopshoopdedoo · 13/08/2023 18:04

I like them all. I think a Lily Gladys is my favourite - love a middle name to honour someone special!

UltramarineViolet · 13/08/2023 18:04

*popular not possible!

WantingToEducate · 13/08/2023 18:09

I love the name Ruby!!

If I hadn’t have had two sons then I would have had a Ruby 👍

I also find Charlotte a bit dull.

Cantdecide20 · 13/08/2023 18:44

Thanks everyone, I’m torn between Charlotte and Ruby. I don’t like Lottie which makes me feel I shouldn’t go for Charlotte

Comedycook · 13/08/2023 18:44

Ruby

Alloveragain3 · 13/08/2023 18:47

Charlotte is lovely and I'm a fan of the nn Lottie.

Ruby feels fresh and fun to me but makes me think of a "Ruby Murray / curry"

TenThousandSpoons · 13/08/2023 18:47

Charlotte is my favourite but I quite like all of them.

Avastmehearties · 13/08/2023 18:49

Ruby has more of a fiery and strong feel (maybe the red association). I prefer it to Charlotte.

Lily is lovely in itself but rather overused by now in my opinion. It also doesn't flow with Gladys.

Ruby Gladys is cool and sharp as well as pretty.

AdaColeman · 13/08/2023 19:03

You must read Reckless Ruby by Hiawyn Oram, a fab book for a little girl!

I've known quite a few Charlottes, but one was always called "Shar" which I thought was a shame to spoil a pretty name.

17caterpillars1mouse · 13/08/2023 19:08

I quite like Gladys

I would choose Ruby Gladys
