Celeste - 7. I think it's pretty but strong and I've only ever met one.
Nina - 6. I'm quite ambivalent about this though it's nice enough. I've taught several in the last few years but all from Indian backgrounds. That might just be coincidence though.
Jasmine - 6. Nice enough but I've never been able to separate it from Disney Princess vibes.
Lucie/y - 6. Quite like it but seems a bit boring somehow.
Lily - 6. Same as Lucy, really.
Daisy - 6. And another in the same vein as Lucy and Lily. Nice names, just not very imaginative.
Eva - 7. Although another very popular one, I actually prefer the sound of this one. I think the a ending makes it more elegant and timeless than ie.
Vivienne - 7. Pretty and unusual.
Anna - 7. Simple and pretty. Not too popular.
Juliet - 9. Love this. One of my favourite names and not too popular.
Louisa - 4. I don't know why but I have never liked this. Can't explain it.
Rosalind - 5. It's ok but much prefer Rosanna, Rosalie, Rosemary and Rosamund.
Maria - 6. Timeless yet quite unusual (in the UK). Most child Marias I have taught were Spanish.
Scarlett - 6. Not keen but bumped up in my mind because I have taught such lovely Scarletts that it gives me warm feelings towards the name.

Eloise - 7. Pretty. Much more unusual than most of the El names.
Dahlia - 4. Don't like this at all. It's more of a flower than a name to me although I know loads of other flowers are names. Prefer Delilah or even Delia.

Juliet is my favourite by a long way followed by Celeste, Eva and Vivienne.
Louisa and Dahlia are the only ones I don't like though.

Your list is great! It's easier to give the ones I don't like - Eva, Anna and Dalia. I don't hate them, just wouldn't use them! Top 3 - Celeste, Nina and Vivienne.

Celeste because I’ve never met a Celeste (and I’ve met a lot of people). I love Celeste.

Shakespear’s Rosaline? Mm not keen. Prefer Viola.

Lily’s cute too. But there are a lot of Lilies around here.
Scarlett is a bold choice. One of my favourites on your list. Great list x

eandz13 · 31/07/2023 18:29

Vivienne - 100% the best name on this list
Anna - nah

Mrsfussypants1 · 31/07/2023 21:34

My favourites are:
Celeste
Eloise
Anna
Lucy

My least are :
Eva/Ava
Lilly
Scarlett
Jasmine
I think it's because they are quite over used at the moment and I'm a bit meh about them.

Yourebeingtooloud · 31/07/2023 21:37

None of them are massively my type of name but out of that list, Lucy, Rosalind & Juliet are probably my faves.

TheaBrandt · 31/07/2023 21:40

Like them all except

Lily - so boring massively over used know loads
Eva - all the Eve names have been done to absolute death
Daisy - too cutesy makes me cringe on an adult woman for toddlers only
Elouise - terrible name absolutely hate it. Sounds whiny

The others are all good.

Theoldwoman · 31/07/2023 22:45

Yellowcakestand · 31/07/2023 22:50

LadyKX · 31/07/2023 22:53

Faves:

Jasmine
Lily
Vivienne
Scarlett
Dahlia

TaigaSno · 31/07/2023 23:20

Really love these - my top choices:
Jasmine
Lucie/y
Eloise

Like these too and would happily use:
Lily
Daisy
Anna
Juliet
Louisa
Rosalind
Scarlett

Not for me:
Celeste - I want to like it but I just don't.
Nina - Can't read it without hearing the sound of emergency sirens, neee naaa
Eva - a bit plain
Vivienne - nice but I dislike Viv as a nickname.
Maria - also a bit plain.
Dahlia - pretty flower but I dislike Dahl as a nickname.
