Rosamund/Gwendolyn + which middle names?

Hello, we are having some trouble narrowing down the right name, at the moment we have too many middle name options for her! We are trying to honour family members, although I like all of these names regardless of association. This is my final child so we won't have the opportunity to use any of these names on future daughters. It is a very personal thing but I would like to poll opinions on which of these combinations flow better? We like grand and romantic names but don't want a name that sounds too modern or too hippy, it needs to grow up with her.

My prefered first name is Rosamond,
Rosamund Philippa
Rosamund Alexandra
Rosamund Anne
Rosamund Philippa Alexandra

Or husband's favourite choices of name:

He likes either Guinevere or Gwendolyn, I love Guinevere but feel that Guinevere is perhaps a little bit trendy and sounds more whimsical compared to the others or is this not the impression that others would have?

Gwendolyn Rosamund (so we both get to use our favourite name) with either Alexandra or Philippa to honour relatives.

Gwendolyn Rosamund Philippa
Gwendolyn Rosamund Alexandra

Using 'Alexandra Philippa' is probably too much although it would be lovely to honour both!

Thank you for your opinions.

Some beautiful names OP!
I like them all but slightly less keen on Rosamund Anne. I think they all work though. I don't see Guinevere as being at all trendy.

I prefer Rosamund from your first name options, and like the way Rosamund Anne flows as it's a long name followed by a short name.

Three long names together is a bit much and she will run out of space filling in forms.

OccasionalHope · 31/07/2023 12:36

Rosamund Guinevere sounds lovely.

SirVixofVixHall · 31/07/2023 12:38

Rosamund is the nicest name there. I rather like Rosamund Alexandra, or Rosamund Phillipa Alexandra.

Vexxa · 31/07/2023 13:01

I like all of these names OP. Rosamund is my favourite (I also love Rosalind). It might depend whether you prefer Rosie or Gwen as a nickname?

I also think Alexandra Philippa is very nice if that's the one you would ideally like to use! Not sure why you would think it was too much.

oldnorsesaga · 31/07/2023 16:49

I like Rosamund the most, but I feel they all feel tad too long... and not fan of Rosamund Anne since Anne seems to be lost next to Rosamund
I would probably go with Rosamund Philippa, because I like Philippa better than Alexandra.

miniaturepixieonacid · 31/07/2023 17:20

I like Rosamund Alexandra the best.

I'm not keen of Gwendolyn or Guinevere though I think Rosamund Guinevere is lovely (but doesn't honour the family names you want).

I agree that Rosamund Alexandra Philippa is a mouthful but, if it's your last child and would mean something to your family, then I'd go for it. She won't need to use them all often.

Alternatively, Rosamund Pippa Alexandra could work? Breaks up the long names with a shorter, more modern one that still has a nod towards Philippa?

If you both love Guinevere use it.
It's not in the slightest bit trendy Babies called Guinevere in England & Wales since 1996 (darkgreener.com), although there are a lot of Arthurs around.
Not keen on the Gwendolyn spelling. Gwen on its own is nice.
Rosamund is nice.

I like Rosamund best. Maybe Rosamund Guinivere so you each get a choice? I am not personally keen on Gwendolyn or Guinivere as first names but I do like both Alexandra and Phillipa.

PickledScrump · 31/07/2023 20:48

I’m not a fan of Rosamund, Gwendolyn is nice and Guinevere is lovely. I’d go with Guinevere Philippa Alexandra

shoopshoopdedoo · 31/07/2023 21:13

I don’t like Rosalind at all, but I really like all your other choices. Gwen is my favourite so I would go with Gwendolyn, but I also like Guinevere. All of your middle name choices are nice and I think pretty much any combo would work - I’d personally only use one middle but also it really doesn’t matter if it’s a bit long if you like the names and/or they have meaning.

shoopshoopdedoo · 31/07/2023 21:13

*Rosamund, sorry! Not a fan.

Nocturnaradish · 31/07/2023 22:25

Guinevere is beautiful, it’s the right amount of daring in that I think would still hold wide appeal considering the recent popularity of Genevieve and other similar names.

You could call her her Vera or Neve or Gwinnie all of which are lovely.

Rosamund is pretty but not quite as interesting. I like Rosa if you wanted to shorten, and I think of the beautiful Rosamund Pike.

Rosamund is nice.

I don't like the Gwendolyn spelling either. I always think of it as a spelling for the easily confused because Gwendoline looks like it could rhyme with dine, fine, mine etc.

You've got my favourite girls name, another one I love, and my own name in your list so I can't fault your taste. Just drop the Anne option.

LadyGAgain · 31/07/2023 23:34

Prefer Rosalind but Rosamund Alexandra is also pretty.
Gwendolyn - I think is ugly to read but pretty to say.
The other is The Sword In the Stone and no one can ever spell it!

continentallentil · 01/08/2023 01:35

Gwendolyn Rosamund Philippa

There are too many Rosies, whereas Gwen is quite fresh

user1492757084 · 01/08/2023 02:46

Rosamund, Guinevere, Alexandra and Philippa are all lovely.
Gwendolyn I dislike. Guinevere is my fave.

Guinevere Philippa Alexandra
Rosamund or Rosalind Alexandra
Philippa Alexandra
Rosalind Gwen Alexandra
