Amelia or Sophia

Both Popular I know but which one do you prefer and why.

@wallflower1 same here, I love the name Rebecca but it means a noose! And Jacob means deceiver! Just couldn't use them though they sound lovely

Sophia is so beautiful one of my favourite names, love the Soph shortening too, I also like Sophie just not quite as much, I really dislike Amelia, its got that mealy sound in the middle

Sophia if I had to choose. Amelia is a medical condition

They are both nice, but they aren’t just popular they are done to death -

if you must, then Sophie would be a bit more unusual right now

Amelia is so overused it’s dull. She’ll just be another Amelia amongst all the Olivia and Evie’s. Especially if you use Rose/Grace/May as a middle name. And a lot of them are Millie.

Sophia is a lovely name

I prefer Amelia of the two.

But if Sophie was on the table, I’d prefer that to Amelia.

I have a 14yo amelia. Always called that and not shortened by friends or family.

As for meanings... it means hardworking. Which my Amelia is!

I like both, of course both super popular - but Sophia to me has the edge.

I have an Amelia, she's 10. It never gets shortened!
