Opinion on the name Edan for a boy, would you prefer Eden? Do you associate one with a specific gender more than the other?

Should we just go for Aidan which is more recognised?

I prefer Aiden to be honest. Edan makes me think of Edam cheese and looks like a totally made-up name.

Eden I would think is a girls name.

My brain tries to see Edam or Edna. Aiden is better.

Aiden isn’t a name I personally like but it is recognisable as a name and not overly popular.

Edan auto corrects to Dean on my phone.

He will have a lifetime of spelling it out so that people don't write Edam.

It's a real name but not very common.
I would spell Aidan with the -an but so many people have written Aiden with the -en which I thought was more the American spelling

It's a real name but it is a variant, it's a variation on the Hebrew name Idan. Which I actually prefer to Edan.

But I like Aiden or Aidan better. Eden is a girl's name imo.

Eden is a female name for me. Makes me think of the character Eden in the tv series "Nip/Tuck".

Eden is a girls name to me, Edan just makes me think of Edam cheese. Aiden/Aidan is often known as a ‘naughty boys’ name. Plus there’s the spelling variation.

Well first of all, all names were made up at some time.

And, new names come along all the time. Doesn't mean they're bad.

Edan is an existing name. It's ok but might get mixed up with other names.

Eden is my FAVOURITE name of all time for a boy, wish I'd used it. I don't see it as a female name at all, completely unisex.

I would keep it as Eden though without the changing of spelling.

Evan or Eric

Eden Kane was the name of a male singer, (who sang "Well, I Ask You")so I've always thought of it as a male name. I like it!

Most famous Eden I immediately think of is male… Eden Hazard

We know a teen boy named Eden. I've never seen the spelling Edan before.
