I'm looking for a nice boys name, my other 2 dc have fairly normal names not too out there.
Also need a middle name too,

Jacob has quite an ugly ending sound to me, plus it feels quite religious somehow more than other names.

Daniel is a lovely classic name and ready for a revival. I also like Mark, James, Luke.

Love both of them you can't go wrong with either. One I have used for a middle name for one of mine and the other I couldn't use as it's my nephew's name.

I prefer Daniel. Less popular, I haven't met a small Daniel in ages, and I prefer Dan to Jake

I think they are both nice but I think Daniel sounds quite generational. It's a name I associate with boys born in the 80's and 90's.

The Daniels I know we're all born in the 70s. I think it's a classic.

Daniel! Don't mind Jacob but I've always always always hated the name Jake and I don't actually know why. And I do think it would end up shortened at least by some. Daniel is timeless

Middle names would depend on your surname - e.g. how many syllables does it have? What sound does it begin with?

Love Daniel. Doesn't work with the surname unfortunately so didn't use it.

Not as fond of Jacob, but it's nice enough.

Daniel is very handsome, as is Dan.
Jacob is more trendy and also nice, though I dislike Jake.

I quite like jakey as a nn
I wouldn't give Daniel a nn I hate Danny.
