Gabriel William Fox

With DS1 we had a shortlist and picked after he’d arrived. This time round we theoretically have the same but Gabriel (probably known as Gabe) is so far ahead of the others that it seems a forgone conclusion that we’ll go for it. I think this is leading me to overthink. Have I missed any weird problems with initials or sounds like (DS1 was nearly Isaac Fox and it wasn’t until we revisited it with DS2 that I realised it actually sounds quite close to ‘I suck cocks’ 😬)?

Thanks everyone. I sincerely hope that he’ll grow up in a world that’s not homophobic but life is hard for all of us, in various ways, and I just didn’t want to make it any harder than it has to be.

I think it's a great name, @CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair - strong and distinctive, and with a good cadence. I didn't identify any problem with it before reading the thread, although I suppose you could contort it into 'Gay' if you try hard enough. I'm not sure our children will be as hung up on such things as their parents/grandparents- already we see attitudes relaxed hugely since I was young. If you are really worried could you name him William Gabriel instead? Or do you have a maiden name you could add as a third given name to put more distance between Gabe and Fox?

We did the my maiden name thing with my eldest. It’s nice that they’ve both got middle names with meaning.
