Scottish boys names

Expecting our second and we cannot agree on boy's names! We're in Scotland, I'm Scottish and DH is Irish so we're keen for a traditionally Scottish first name as the kids have a very obviously Irish surname.

Our DD has a traditional, easy to spell and slightly unusual but not wacky name that we love. It's also a name that can be used as a Surname and I quite like that.

Names I like but he's vetoed:
Innes, Harris, Angus, Hamish, Munro (I wasn't super keen on this)

Names he likes but I don't:
Cameron, Campbell, Lewis

We both like Arran but I'm convinced it's a girls name as I went to school with 3 female Arrans!

Any ideas??

@KirstenBlest st. Mungos real name is kentigern. The mungo are dominated indigenous people from Cameroon. Also there are old connotations to it being used as disgusting way to reference people who have downs syndrome. That's why I don't like it.

Mungo is NOT a derogatory reference to people with Down syndrome. It's a different word spelling and pronunciation

I have an Alasdair, love his name.
Lachlan, Finlay, Lewis, Harris, Struan. I've only ever met one female Arran and I live in Scotland.

The term used for Downs people was Mongo nothing to do with Mungo.

It related to the Downs people having similar facial features to Mongolian people. All sorts of reasons why it is no longer used as a medical term.

@BluebellsareBlue , I am well aware of who St Kentigern is, but OP asked for scottish names. Other posters have answered the vaguely similar-sounding derogatory term. There are other names that are also river names.

@Sugarfree23 my point exactly, it sounds so similar that do you think kids would NOT use the derogatory term? Of course they will. Why put your child through that?

I don't think today's kids would know the term. Its not a word I've heard being used since the '80s.

@BluebellsareBlue , the derogatory term didn't have the o on the end, and it's rarely heard these days.

Mongo to me is a database program. It never crossed my mind to associate it with offensive slang.

Actually it did have an o on the end on the east coast. It's offensive in any case and for me mungo is a terrible name because of the connotations. You asked me what was wrong with the name mungo earlier, I've given you my opinion and justification for disliking it, I'm not sure why my opinion is still being debated
