We are expecting a girl in a month and have a few name options, but are struggling to pick one. We would really appreciate any opinions and preferences (or dislikes):
Elena
Lea
Sasha
Natalie
Mischa
Isabelle
Mari
Poppy
Zoe
Alisha
Cleo
Helena
Quite a few (!) and it is very difficult to shortlist.

Cleo is a lovely name, as is your username.

Grace204 · 22/06/2023 21:24

I like Leah but spelt like that and also Sasha best out of your list

Thalia2008 · 22/06/2023 21:33

Thank you for your suggestions! I tend to agree, plus those names are less likely to be shortened or given a nickname

You have a lovely list OP! My favourites are Zoe, Poppy and Cleo

MooMa83 · 22/06/2023 21:44

I love Mischa, such a cool name!

Somanycats · 22/06/2023 21:45

Zoe, Poppy or Natalie

Nursemumma92 · 22/06/2023 21:46

I like Mischa, Mari and Poppy

17caterpillars1mouse · 22/06/2023 21:48

Love Sasha and Mischa, different and interesting. Refreshing choices.

I really don't like Cleo

AuntieJune · 22/06/2023 21:49

None of them are that bad!

Elena, Alisha, Lea, Mari, Isabelle, Mischa would require a lot of spelling them out

I think Natalie and Helena are nice classic names you don't hear much

Thalia2008 · 22/06/2023 22:02

Thanks everyone for your input, it is interesting to hear different takes on the names.

Cleo or Zoe

DuchessOfSausage · 22/06/2023 22:25

Elena - will be Ellie. Ellen-a or Elaina?
Lea - surname said as Lee
Sasha - like
Natalie - nice in french, tends to be Nah-uh-lie in East Enders
Mischa - isn't it a man's name
Isabelle - a bit overused
Mari - welsh for Mary
Poppy - like
Zoe - like
Alisha - will be spelt Alicia or Aleesha
Cleo - ok
Helena - ok

Barleysugar86 · 22/06/2023 22:27

Mischa is awesome, very unique!

greyhairnomore · 22/06/2023 22:27

Sasha and Mari are nice. What about Eleanor (ell - a - nor )? Or Josephine / Josie ?

Mumofgirls2017 · 22/06/2023 22:28

Elena- nice
Lea- Leah is ok
Sasha- maybe bit dated
Natalie- dated
Mischa- only think of mischa barton
Isabelle- nice, but lots
Mari- Mary and Marie feel dated
Poppy- it’s popular, but I find a bit bland and wet
Zoe- becoming dated. Don’t find v pretty.
Alisha- dated
Cleo- like
Helena- love

shoopshoopdedoo · 22/06/2023 22:29

I like Sasha, Mischa and Zoe. Prefer Eleni to Elena if there is any Greek connection (looking at your username!)

Thalia2008 · 22/06/2023 22:30

Oh yes, didn't realise Mischa was a gender neutral name (was thinking of Mischa Barton), but that's fine, so is Sasha I think. 'Nah-uh-lie' made me laugh :-)

Cleo and Helena are my favourites from your list

WaltzingWaters · 22/06/2023 23:10

Elena and Cleo are lovely. Really not a fan of Helena.

ButtonMoonBlanketSky · 22/06/2023 23:21

Somanycats · 22/06/2023 21:45

Zoe, Poppy or Natalie

Seconded

daisydalrymple · 22/06/2023 23:28

LOVE Elena 😍

Theoldwoman · 23/06/2023 00:08

Natalie, but depends on middle name, surname, siblings?

Pemba · 23/06/2023 00:13

Some lovely names there, I like Zoe or Helena best.

Don't like Poppy really though.

PossiblyNotOne · 23/06/2023 08:21

Poppy is twee and over used. Always twinned with Grace/Rose/May as a middle name.

I like Isabelle but it’s massively popular.

Love Cleo and Natalie.

RosesAndHellebores · 23/06/2023 08:24
  1. Helena
