Not Noa or Emery as people will think you wanted another boy!

I like Effie (or Ettie / Etta) and Lyla (or Lyra).

OopsieeDaisy · 22/06/2023 09:27

I like Effie.

Lyla/Lilah is overused. I’ve never heard of Noa for a girl before and not keen on Emery.

Rainbowqueeen · 22/06/2023 09:28

If you use Lyla that’s a lot of L names.

Also would not choose Noa as it will be confused with Noah

Do you like Kyla?

sweetcheeks27 · 22/06/2023 09:34

Lyla and Leo sound too similar.

Effie is my favourite from your list. What about Josie or Mabel?

Mumofgirls2017 · 22/06/2023 11:56

I’d go for Effie. Other ideas- Myles, Finn, Leo and….

Noa and emery aren't girly enough maybe?

effie will get "Effie off" at school?

lyla is pretty

I had a girl after 3 boys. It's just lovely, huge congratulations x

Fivemoreminutes1 · 22/06/2023 12:19

I love the sound of the name Lyla but not so much the meaning… apparently it means dark/night

FayCarew · 22/06/2023 12:28

Lyla - disappears into all the Lily, Lila, Lyra type names
Emery - thing you file your nails with
Effie - effin awful
and Noa - for too close to the overused Noah

I would totally agree about Lyla being easily forgotten. I know a few people who all had babies around the same time and went for Lilah/Lyra/Lyla names.. I always find myself not attempting to say their child’s name in conversation because I have no idea which one it is 🙈 It’s not strong enough as a stand alone name I don’t think but that is just my opinion so if you love it please ignore all comments on here and choose what you want to choose!

Embarra55ed · 22/06/2023 12:32

I think Lyla is like a combo of Myles and Leo - not good - will be confusing and you’ll constantly be stumbling when you need to call them all for dinner!

Noa sounds like a boys name which is fine but wouldn’t you like to give the only girl a girl’s name?
Emery is very surnamey/American.

Effie therefore the best of your list.

what about Violet? (Has similar sound to Lyla?) or Cora is cool and seems to fit the vibe.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 22/06/2023 12:32

Miles, Finn, Leo and Aimee
Miles, Finn, Leo and Rose
Miles, Finn, Leo and Alice

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 22/06/2023 12:33

Ooh Cora above is a fab suggestion

Gettingfleeced · 22/06/2023 12:38

I like Emery. Maybe Mimi or Meri for short?

As another has said, Effie might get Effie off or For Effie's Sake etc at school.

HuntingoftheSnark · 22/06/2023 12:52

Love Effie.

How about Nola instead of Noa?
Nola is of Irish origin, like Finn.

SummerLovingg · 22/06/2023 18:21

Annabelle

Spanielsarepainless · 22/06/2023 18:23

Emery. As in Dick?

Spanielsarepainless · 22/06/2023 18:23

Or tape.

RichPetunia · 22/06/2023 18:42

Not Effie as it's close to an effing swear word. Noa(h) is a boy's name, emery board, so no.
Lyla it is then.

continentallentil · 22/06/2023 19:08

Erm, I hate to say it, but it just sounds like you can’t be arsed thinking of girl names.

Effie is a little kid nn and sounds like effin hell, Noa and Emery sound like you were expecting a boy, and Lyla is very nothingy/- weird mix of Myles and Leo / blends into all the Leah/Lola/Lara/Leila/Lena names.

Your boys have nice proper names. How about..

Effie is nice , but maybe use the long name Euphemia or Seraphina so she could adapt at Secondary school if she wanted.
