Bonnie Francesca

We have 2 daughters and are thinking through names for DD 3. We are pretty set on Francesca as a middle name (family name) and the moment our favourite first names are Bonnie, Nancy and Eliza. Our other 2 DD names our similar (I think) in that they’re well known names but not very commonly used. We live abroad (so I may be out of touch with popular names!) a but planning to move home soon after baby 3 is born.

So what do you think?

I'm not keen on Bonnie. It just sounds too babyish too me. The other names are lovely though.
Although Francesca as a first name is my favourite.

Both of my grandmothers (Irish) would have described a healthy baby as 'bonny', so I hear that as an adjective rather than a name. I like Eliza best.

Bonnie means pretty where I come from (up North) as in she’s a bonnie girl/lady.

I like the name Bonnie but it doesn’t go with Francesca. Can Francesca be the first name?

I don’t like Bonnie at all. Bonnie Francesca sounds like a descriptor for a girl called Francesca “ah yes, op’s daughter bonnie Francesca”.

Eliza Francesca is nice.

I don’t like Nancy.

Where I am in the US Nancy is very much a name for the over 50s.

I know a Francesca who is very (bonnie) pretty actually. Maybe you should.consider Francesca properly as the first name. I think it’s a classic name with potential for ‘modern’ nicknames at the time of a girls’ life - Fran, Frankie, Cesca

Bonnie Francesca sounds like a lassy called Francesca who was awful bonny in an old folk story.

Not sure of that's good or bad.

I like Nancy best, but they're all lovely names.

It really does sound like a pretty lass called Francesca, I don't think it really works.

I think Bonnie Francesca goes beautifully, and manages to be both edgy and classic! People won’t be calling her Bonnie Francesca, in any case. It’ll usually be Bonnie surname or, more formally, Bonnie Francesca surname. I don’t think the other two choices combine so well.

i was thinking the same as @Thequeenofwishfulthinking O e of DD’s friends is called Francesca and it’s such a beautiful name. Easily shortened if she wants to do that, but flows beautifully as is.

I also like Eliza (although don’t think it goes so well with Francesca) but there are 5 in my DD’s school now, it’s become very popular which might put some people off. Don’t know a Nancy or a Bonnie other than one Bonnie abroad. I know two Francesca’s and think that’s a beautiful name to be honest by itself. Remember middle names don’t get used much…Bonita is also nice as it would allow Bonnie or Nita as shortenings or even Ita.
