Are Max and Mia too similar?

As sibling names not twins. We have another daughter (Alice) as well. The repeated initial doesn’t really bother me, just wondering if Mia for our 3rd baby is too similar to Max!

Not too similar I think they sound lovely together :)

LilyLemonade · 22/05/2023 20:24

No, they sound good together.

needastrongoneagain · 22/05/2023 20:32

Have friends with exactly these names, they are teenagers and still suit them well

KirstenBlest · 22/05/2023 20:33

They're a bit matchy-matchy but not in a bad way.

ourflagmeansdeath · 22/05/2023 20:36

Agree that it is definitely matchy but they do sound different so not too much of an issue. I would only think it was strange if I saw it spelled out but if introduced in person it'd be okay.

KirstenBlest · 22/05/2023 20:42

I'm not keen on Mia but the other two names are ones I'd definitely be prepared to use.

ItsJustASimpleLine · 22/05/2023 20:44

I know a Max and Mia siblings. Not too similar at all

Luredbyapomegranate · 22/05/2023 22:34

No you can imagine them as children’s book characters like Charlie and Lola. Not a bad thing.

On the other hand, Mia has had it’s day a bit.

Saisong · 22/05/2023 22:41

Also know Max and Mia siblings, never thought of it as a problem

user1492757084 · 23/05/2023 05:01

Alice, Max and Mia sound fine and lovely.

Also Alice, Max and ..
Camilla
Edwina
Rowena
Willow
Sophie

Namasti · 23/05/2023 08:42

I know Amelia is popular but I think it goes better and Mia is a nice nickname

I just think Alice and Max are lovely names and Mia doesn’t quite have the same classic feel

Blip · 23/05/2023 09:07

If it's good enough for Eastenders

Pinkyhere · 23/05/2023 21:06

Absolutely love Mia. (And Max and Alice).
Think they sound lovely together

Izz1 · 23/05/2023 21:13

Thanks all, it is one of the few names we are both in agreement with. Other options are Zara and Lucy (so far) if anyone wants to give an opinion on which they prefer!

I love both Zara and Lucy far more!

Lucy fits in best with sibling names I think but Zara also really lovely

dwightschrutebeets · 24/05/2023 07:43

Think all 3 go really well together

CountessBathorysBeautySecrets · 24/05/2023 11:26

Max and Mia are such different sounds. They work well together. I prefer Zara to Mia though. I always think there's a nice energy to that name.

SunsetsInVenice · 24/05/2023 12:15

Mia and Alice are two of my favourite names.

MyTruthIsOut · 24/05/2023 12:18

Someone I know has a Lucy and a Lucas.

I’ve always thought it was a bit too matchy.

Max and Mia sound lovely though!

porridgeisbae · 24/05/2023 19:20

I know there's Mia Farrow, but otherwise, to me, Mia is short for bulimia.

Lol, to be honest that’s not much of a concern, I don’t think many people will associate Mia with Bulimia or with Mia Farrow 😂

I know of siblings Gwen and Quinn. Now THAT'S too similar sounding. Max and Mia is fine.

XXXMangoLassiXXX · 24/05/2023 21:40

You could go Mia and Vincent.

Starsandrain · 24/05/2023 21:52

Love the names. Also love Lucy too. Good choices.
