I have always loved both names. Middle name is James.

Luke James or Noah James??

Any reason behind your preference, if you have one?

ARGH I love them both equally.

I really like Noah. Luke is a beautiful name but it's really popular at the moment, Noah is lovely with James too.

Noah is literally the most popular boys’ name in the country.

Luke

Luke, by miles. Noah is overdone and whiny sounding.

I'd go with Luke and a different middle name tbh. Noah is one of the most popular baby boy names atm, James is literally the most popular middle name for boys.... throw a rock and you'd hit another Noah James.

Luke! My favourite boys name. I only know one and he’s an adult and just lovely, handsome and very charming!

TheFormidableMrsC · 17/05/2023 08:02

Luca? A bit of both?

snarkyrooster · 17/05/2023 08:06

Noah sounds a bit like an old man with a beard to me!

So, Luke (it means light, which is lovely!

I am leaning more towards Luke. Its a name I remember loving as a child, when I met a cool teenager called Luke! I started loving Noah after the notebook and after meeting a few nice Noahs. They are both nice names, but I've loved Luke longer and think it will be less 'of a certain time' if you see what I mean.

all the Lukes I have ever met have been really lovely.

I wish people on MN could state preferences without being rude about the other names.

When I was pregnant with my now toddler, we had it narrowed down to either Luke or James.

Both Luke and Noah are lovely, but I prefer Luke (and it's what we ended up choosing).

Luke

Too many Noahs

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 18/05/2023 22:51

Definitely Luke

I really like Luke, it's a lovely name and I think it goes well with James

Luke James
Luke William

Classic, masculine and not as popular as Noah.

I see Noah as more religious though both are biblical names.
I don't know why that is.

Definitely interesting given Luke has an entire gospel in the New Testament, Noah has mention in Genesis but only part of it 😄 But both truly great classic names for sure.
