Help us name our son!

Hi there,

DS is due later this year, just found out it's a boy and struggling with names but have come up with a shortlist. I am drawn more to classic names. Which is your favorite from the following:
Julian
Alexander
Harry
Oliver
Xavier
Lucas
Any other suggestions most welcome. Thanks in advance!

I've met one Julian in my time.

He was my biology teacher, and an absolute inspiration.

I'm very fond of the name as a result.

@MuddledMindy I agree, Julian John sounds a bit odd but I thought maybe he could go by JJ as nickname! Alexander John does seem to go better though. I know 4 Julians and still don't like the name. Julius is better.
Lucas and Luca combined is popular - I know they're different names but they're both forms of the same name and sound alike. Add Luke, Lukas, Lukacz etc and it's even more popular.

Julian - It's beautiful and I like Julian John somehow, I think it flows depending on your surname
Alexander - Love Alexander so much considering my son is called it! He's Alexander James but Alexander John flows just as well. This is my fav on your list.
Harry - Seems a bit plain to me
Oliver - Same as Harry
Xavier - I like Zavier pronunciation not Zavia but it isn't my favourite name anyway
Lucas - I quite like Lucas! Prefer Luca though

So favourites are Alexander and Julian. 😊

I like Julian and Alexander best.

Love Alexander! Harry and Oliver are far too common for me, the others are all nice enough.

Alexander and Oliver go better with John as the second name, I think.

I really like Harry, Alexander and Oliver (appreciate the name is popular though!)
Xavier and Lucas are ok too but a bit.. dramatic for my taste. Makes me imagine someone who lives in a manor. This is probably just because I don't know any though!
I think Julian sounds a bit wet but this is based mainly on Julian from the Famous Five, I've only met one in real life!

I like Alexander, Harry, Oliver and Xavier best. I think probably Alexander and Oliver go best with John.

Alexander is my favourite. I think it’s popular but in a kind of enduring way rather than a trendy way, if that makes sense?

Also like Harry and Oliver a lot. I’m not so keen on the other options.

Lucas: I've had some really bad experiences with various men called Lucas. I'm obviously very biased but the name makes my stomach churn nowadays.

Oliver is tolerable but I really don't like Ollie, and Harry WAS fine but now just reminds me of over privileged, entitled tossers for some reason 🤣

I like Julian. Much prefer Luke to Lucas (I may be biased though 😁)

You see a lot of Harry’s and Oliver’s at the moment so just depends is you want a more uncommon name.
Love Alexander but will most likely always just get Alex.
Julian isn’t my favourite and I feel like Julian is a little blonde boy with blue eyes so still super cute!
Personally not a fan of Xavier but still think the name is nothing short of adorable.
Lucas, very cute, not to common.
