Baby 2# - Brother for Max

Hello everyone, I'm expecting my second baby and we found out that it's a boy. I already have a son called Max Oscar and absolutely love his name. I can't find anything that I like equally. The names that we considered are René, Fabian and Alan, but they all feel boring when stood next to Max Oscar. We need suggestions on both first and middle names. We like european names that feel cool and funky, perhaps a bit hipster without being too out there. Thank you in advance!

I agree Alan feels boring next to Max, Fabian and Rene are far more interesting and unused though. Max is quite popular at least in my area though so don’t really see it as particularly cool/ funky.

Some names I’d see as similar in vibe to Max or Oscar or the brothers of boys I know with either name:

Jack
Leo
Rory
Hugo
Xavier
Barnaby
Oliver
George
Arthur
Douglas
Milo
Zachary
Lucas
Henry

I dunno how Fabian would be dull in comparison? Max and Oscar are nice names, but very very popular.

I like Fabian

Lucian
Corin
Jules
Alexander
Tobias
Cassian
Caspar
Justin
Laurence nn Laurie
Nicolas or Dominic nn Nico
Xavier
Guy
Joss

Rene I don’t like but more to the point it will get mistaken for a girls’ name a lot so I wouldn’t

There is nothing wrong with Alan as such, but it still has a granddad feel like Nigel or Gerard. Will be ripe for revival but many not yet.
