Is Atlas a good baby boy name?

So the hubby and I absolutely love the name Atlas for a boy, but is it too out there? Will people think it’s weird? Should that matter? Thoughts please!

With the weight of the world on his shoulders? No.

I doubt a strapping 20 year old would thank you for that name

Previous posters have probably said but it reminds me of the character from It Ends with us and a lot of teen moms are naming their sons that. It is also part of Greek Mythology.

That being said I do still quite like it 😁I don't know, it just has a nice ring!

It was the name of one of the babies in the first baby group I went to and I live in rural Scotland. So it’s not as out there as once was as it grows in popularity.

It’s one of those names which sound interesting but to actually think of calling out the name in a park or introducing my child makes me cringe a little. Maybe you’d be fine with it.

There’s the Greek connection and also the geographical one. I don’t think either are terrible. I think often bullying solely because of a name is exaggerated here. It’s not a bad name but it’s not one I’d want to use.
