I live in south west France and you're given by law, 3 days to submit and declare the name on the birth certificate. My baby boy is arriving in 8 days via C section and I'm just so, so worried that we wont decided. I've been on here before casting votes on name preferences and all of you hate my number one choice 😂
We've tried everything - from pretending we've decided on a name from our list of 3 and seeing if it's brought up any feelings about the others; we've asked our closest friends for advice - and none of it has helped. Any advice please xx

The declaration must be made within 5 days of the day of delivery. The day of delivery is not counted in the time limit of birth declaration. If the last day falls on a Saturday, a Sunday, a public holiday or a non-working day, this period shall be extended until 1toworking daynext.

You’ve asked your friends and family for “advice” 😐

don’t discuss further with anyone. It yours and your partners decision and getting “advice” is not going to help!

Stop involving others, it’s over complicating it. Just choose your 3 names and when baby arrives go with the one he most suits! Good luck.

It doesn't matter if others like the name, surely if you love the name that's what counts - it's your baby after all!

Please just choose the name you love. The opinions of random people on Mumsnet doesn’t matter remotely in the long run!

I regularly see one of my children’s names get criticised (and also liked tbf) on here. In real life people just take them for who they are.

Another vote for not involving others and their opinions Wink

Just go to the birth with 2 or 3 names in mind and see what he looks like when he arrives.

Thanks everyone! X

What was the name?

I think Clement would be lovely for a little boy growing up in France :)

Train007 · 30/03/2023 11:23
