Lucy or Isabel

Trying to make a final decision on babys name, what are your thoughts on Lucy or Isabel?

Isabel. Lucy is very common.

Way too many Isabels, Isabelles, Isobels, Isabellas doing the rounds these days. People need to find a new name!

Oh both lovely choices! At a push I'd go Lucy, but I have a real soft spot for Isabella

Lucy is too twee for me.

Our shortlist was Lucy, Grace, Isabella (Izzy) and Annie.

We went for Lucy.

Isabella was back on our shortlist for DC2 as well, but DC2 was a boy.

They are both great classic names. I do prefer Isabel really out of the two, but it has been very popular the last few years, she wouldn't be the only one in school, if that bothers you.

Have you considered Lucia or Annabel? Slightly more unusual.

Thanks for all your feedback, we've gone for Lucy, it's slightly more popular here in Northern Ireland, no.24 in the top baby names of 2022 but definitely suits her and we love it now 😊
