I recently posted about the name Francis.
Which of these do you think is more classic? Francis or Vincent?
I prefer the nn Frank over the nn Vinny but love both full names.

Francis/Frank.
Vincent will be Vinnie or Vince. Vince is awful.

Francis. I know a Frannie, a Frank and a Frankie, but Frankie is a little dog.

Vincent… please, no.

Francis (Frank/Frankie) is a great name!

PearlClutzsche · 07/03/2023 21:08

Francis is elegant and distinguished. Vincent is... not.

I prefer Francis, obv.

Vincent

Both are not great but Francis is just awful and feminine sounding, so Vincent would win slightly.

I like both. I know an adult Vincent who is called Vince and it always sounds pretty cool to me. Have you thought about Lawrence - has a similar vibe?

DramaAlpaca · 07/03/2023 22:35

Francis is the most classic, but Frank and Frankie are just so ugly.

I like Vincent much better and don't mind Vinny.

shapelydoes · 07/03/2023 22:36

Vincent. My nephew is a Vincent and sometimes called Vince

Nobody calls him Vinnie!

I like Dennis too, @Soapyspuds

Vincent and Francis are both handsome and international.
Vince and Frank are equally masculine.
Vin and Frankie are delightful nick names.
Vincent = prevailing/to conquer
St Vincent is patron Saint of wine makers and the the poor.
Francis = Frenchman
St Francis is patron Saint of the environment and animal welfare.

Which name sounds nicest to your ears?
