I really like the name Max but wondered if it’s slightly odd that you’d see it everywhere as a word -Pepsi Max, max strength, max speed, min and max etc etc. Feel free to tell me I’m overthinking! Does anyone else have this association?

It was our alternative name if we hadn't have chosen the one we have. I think it's a lovely name!

My 8yo is Max. I didnt like maximillian but liked Maximus BUT i grew up hating my name so felt short and sweet was good.

He likes seeing his name on stuff and doesnt realise 'max level' or pepsi Max is a thing, he just see's his name and thinks its cool.

No issues with any kids making fun of his name whatsoever.

His name suits him and its got more popular in recent years, so nice to see it making a come back.

My DS is Max and this association has never been an issue. Although when he was little he used to love spotting his name on things like a kettle! He's just Max as well. I really dislike the longer versions. Maxwell and Maxim aren't nice to my ears and Maximilian and Maximus are ridiculous and very 'big' names to carry off. I agree with pp - pretentious. Max is perfect on its own.

I have come across a few dogs called Max but again, a non-issue. I know kids called Rex and Rufus which are also 'dog' names but so what??

We have Max and also had a neighbour with a dog max when we brought him home from the hospital. Didn't care, it's just Max and he was utterly delighted when he was able to spell and write his name before everyone else

love it . Max is a great name , I chose it for the boy I was sure I was having who turned out to be a little girl.

But honestly that was the only thing ever, and we've never regretted giving him the name.

My 12 year old is a Max and we all love it. Never associated it with a dog name tbh. He brother always points out his name whe he sees it on things. He was called Pepsi Max at primary, but he wasn't bothered, he quite liked it if I'm honest!

Nice name, no negative associations as far as I'm concerned. My only criticism is that it's super popular right now, if that bothers you (I know name popularity bothers some people more than others).

@barca123 my soy is just Max, not Maxwell, Maximilian or Maximus etc because we weren't keen on any of those. We don't think it's ever bothered him and another bonus is that it was easy for him to spell when younger.

It's a great name. It was in our final two for DS but in the end it was just that little bit too popular once you consider all of the variations and we went with something else. He would have been Maximilian.
