I've always thought Rocco a great name , what would Cassius be called for short? Cass Cassie? Not as keen!

I know a Kassius at my sons school, the other kids call him Cass

I really like Cassius - although the shortened versions of Cass and Cassie are v feminine so that may be something to consider.

I don’t like Rocco at all.

If you like Rocco who cares what randoms on Mumsnet think? It's a perfectly fine name. Half of the names praised on here are dreadful to me, but that's just personal taste, like anyone else's opinion.
I have a Rocco. The name has family connections for us which but I would've been happy to use it regardless.

Although I prefer Cassius, I know a little Rocco and there are no negative comments or associations with it afaik. So if that is your clear preference, I'd go for that

Rocco is absolutely dreadful - conjures up some real mental images that I shan't share as they're very judgemental Grin but I will say it puts me in mind of a little shaven headed boy with an earring mainly

I think I'll spend one day calling him cassius and the next day rocco
