Matilda or Margot

Which do you prefer? Middle name will likely be Jean.

only thing putting me off Matilda is that I don’t like Tilly as a nickname. Not sure is Margot Jean sounds right together though.

Matilda. Margot is too like Maggot.

I don'tthink Margot is cute, chic or alternative. It's rising rapidly in terms of popularity, probably because of Margot Robbie.
I think it's a bit like Darcie/Darcy/Darcey or Audrey, where it's not a particularly nice name but it makes one think of someone beautiful

I like them both equally, to be honest. I preferred both when they were less popular though.

I have a baby Matilda. I call her Tilda and her Dad calls her Tilds/Tildy at home. Out and about she’s always Matilda though and that’s what my friends and nursery staff call her. If you don’t want the Tilly nickname, you don’t have to suffer it! Just be really clear with people :)

I thought I loved Margot, but when I scrolled it looked like Maggot and I now can't unsee that
