June for a May baby?

Basically as the title says, DC is due mid May and DH and I both really like June if DC is a girl. Is it weird to call a baby June with a May birthday? If DC is actually born in June we have a backup name to use instead as I feel that would be a weird name choice?

What are your general thoughts on this name for a girl? 🙂 Middle name will probably be Elizabeth named after a family member, not after the Queen...

Don't see a problem with that

wishing3 · 19/01/2023 16:31

Lovely name, think month born is irrelevant.

octoberfarm · 19/01/2023 16:33

I wouldn't bat an eyelid if I met a June born either in June or out of it! Congratulations, Op Smile

SummaLuvin · 19/01/2023 16:35

Same as PP, not an issue at all.

I love August for a boy, but I would actually doubt using for a baby born in August rather than the other way around, I'd worry it would be a bit cringe and too on the nose.

MassiveSalad22 · 19/01/2023 16:35

Oh! I thought you were going to say it’s weird to call her June if she’s not born in June. But then you say if she IS born in June you wont call her June?

I know an August born in July and that does seem weird. Maybe he was due in August. I think you need to go the opposite side of the year or the month itself, for it not to be weird 😄 although for me that doesn’t apply to May. So I think there are no rules 😄

I just figured if she's actually born in June people will always comment on it if her name is June 😆 so our backup name (which we both really like anyways and would use for a second girl if we happened to have one in the future) will be Sasha on the small chance baby is born in June!

Our boy name is fine no matter what month DC is born so at least I don't have to stress about that, lol

It’s fine really! You’re over thinking it.

Nimbostratus100 · 19/01/2023 17:03

I dont get months being used unless the baby is born that month.

May for a May baby, June for a June baby.

I know a January, and she was born in February - now I know January is a pretty name and February isn't but I've never understood it at all.

yousmellnice · 19/01/2023 17:10

I think with a May birth you may get people assuming she's early if you call her June? But still it's not a biggie.

Twoinapod · 19/01/2023 18:18

I think people will always ask her if she was born in June, but I don’t think it’ll be a major issue, more a minor annoyance. There’s always Juno as an alternative, you can have June as a nn.

BluePolar · 19/01/2023 18:26

I like June.
Incidentally my mom wanted to call me April but then I was late and arrived in April so she changed her mind, now it’s my daughters name (born in Jan 😁)
it wouldn’t put me off!

DuchessOfSausage · 19/01/2023 18:48

May is very popular as a middle name, so i suggest June May.

I can’t tell if this is a joke…

Usergjdksndjsn · 20/01/2023 00:00

I knew an april born in may
you could see her die inside a bit everytime anyone asked

GossipIsMarmite · 20/01/2023 14:40

I don’t associate the names June or May with the month as I think of them as names seperate to the months (although logically they are not). I might be unusual in thinking that way. April and August I do associate with the months and would find odd on a baby born outside those months though.

AuuYSC · 20/01/2023 14:42

I know a Wynter born in June - it's kind of irrelevant.

You can name her June anytime of year

Baldrickhasaplan · 20/01/2023 14:42

I was born in May and have June as a middle name. I have always hated it and it causes peels of laughter when people find it out.

Juno Teresa would be better

ladygindiva · 20/01/2023 14:45

I know an April born in October, so I don't think it matters. June is a lovely name.

ethelredonagoodday · 20/01/2023 14:47

My DM is a May born June!

ethelredonagoodday · 20/01/2023 14:47

May-born

Kayycatt · 20/01/2023 14:50

June is a lovely name. If someone introduced themselves as June, the last thing I think about is whether they were born in June... I just think of it as a name rather than the month.
