On balance I think Naia. I would instinctively pronounce it how you do, OP.

I really like Noa, but I think the explosion of boys called Noah in recent years has basically ruined it for me.

Of the two, Noa, it what about Naomi? Similar feel, but slightly better known

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 09/01/2023 19:05

Naia just because of the prevalence of male Noahs ("Noa without an h" "girl Noa(h)" for the rest of her life) and it's a bit try hard trendy.

Jessbow · 09/01/2023 20:06

Nola? or even Noella

MammyS · 11/01/2023 17:36

We are stuck between Noa and Nia (pronounced Nee-a) so very very similar. We really can't decide. I prefer Noa, he prefers Nia. I don't envy you, it's so hard to pick!

If it's any help, my preference would be Noa between Noa and Naia x

LetsDoThis2023 · 11/01/2023 19:05

Naia is lovely.
I also love Ngaio (pronunciation "NyeOh"

I honestly wouldn't give a toss about idiots who can't be bothered to learn how to spell a new name they may not have encountered 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pick the name you love op!

Noa is beautiful and so easy to spell and pronounce!

Spellegrin · 11/01/2023 22:22

Noa was our cat's name. The other name is not good. Can't remember how to spell it, no idea how to pronounce it.

TheCraicDealer · 11/01/2023 22:33

Naia, but only because Noah is so commonly used at the moment for boys. Not only will Noa sound “very 2020’s” in years to come, it will get tiresome very quickly correcting people who assume you’ve had a boy or used a male name- “Yes, no H…well actually it’s a girls name too…yes it’s in the bible”, repeat ad nauseam. Then once she gets into nursery/school you’re passing that source of irritation on to her.
