Delilah and Samson?

A friend of mine is called Delilah and would like to call her baby boy Samson. Good idea / bad idea / neutral? What do you think?

The OP’s friend (adult) is called Delilah. Delilah is considering naming her own baby Samson. So mother and son, not siblings.

My guess would be she doesn't know the story behind the names and just thinks it sounds cute

My guess she knows the story very well and it's the reason she's picking Samson

If she wants anyone who knows her name giving her weird looks when she introduces her baby she should go for it. It’s so weird that people probably wouldn’t even say anything out of awkwardness/politeness but there will be looks.

Also Samson is a good name but as pp says it will be spelled Sampson, a lot. My cousin has a Samson and this drives him bats. Even i spell it Sampson sometimes, by accident and I’m cross with myself if I do, but it happens.
