Anyone know or have a Cassius or Cassian ?

Been thing thinking about these names and just read a thread saying they are Chavvy pretentious trying too hard etc
I just thought they were nice names !!
any thoughts or what sort of comments do you get?

Cassian is a bat boy, as much as I love SJM I wouldn't..

I know a Cassius. I've known him from when he was a toddler. He's a teen now. Beautiful name!

The only Cassius I know of is Cassius Clay. Mohammed Ali.

I know one, one year old. Can’t remember if he’s -ius or -ian but the parents wanted the Cassius Clay reference because of circumstances around conception and birth. I’m not a fan of the name itself but wouldn’t have strong associations to it either.

I know an adult Cassius (known as Cass). Def not chavvy. London cool UMC.

I know a teenaged Cassius and one who is in primary school. Both from middle class families, one known as Cass and the other has an unrelated nickname.

I don't think they are chavvy at all. Not keen on Casian, I had Cassius on my list, DH liked Cassian and thought Cassius was too Ssy so we settled on Castiel (cas-te-el) who's Cas outside of school

There is always Casey which is unisex. Or Cassandra for a girl.

I met a kid here in the USA who was under 5 and called Caspian (as in Narnia). His mum was incredibly glam and serene. That was back around 2005.

So in the same vein.

Other names that I think of having a similar feel are Cyrus and Darius, two famous Persian Kings.

Also Casper, Kasper.

Would you say cassius / cassian is getting more popular?

I know a Cassian, very middle class but in his 50s. I'm guessing it was a classical reference. It's been a very middle class name so far, but if it's got very popular that could change - names do often go down the social scale - but I think you'll be alright for a bit with this one.

DS' friend is a Cassius (4) Cass for short. Lovely little boy nice family, very MC, not names I would think of as 'chavvy".
