This is the first time in what feels like ages that I'm considering adding a new boys name to our list so this moment feels sort of special ;)

We are lost when it comes to girls names as there are so many we love. For boys we had a pretty short list since the beginning. So choosing for a girl is more fun in a way but also more stressful and the boys options seem safer, like we will be less likely to regret them. So difficult.

Anyway, thoughts on Tristan?

These are the others on our list:

Otto
Flynn
Edward
Max
Finn
Elliott
Caspar
Colin
Aidan
Tristan

Names we had on our list but have since taken off: George, Finlay, Maximilian, Edmund, Dylan.

Was top of my list for a boy. Am a bit sad I can't use it as stopping at two and having a girl.

Someone suggested it to me because I like the sound of Christian but am an atheist. I looked up the mythology and like that it has a rich literary tradition.

Asked myself on mn and the general consensus was unremarkable or more common up north, southern has upper middle class connotations. That doesn't bother me as I don't think class is anything to be ashamed of. I just wanted my baby to have a name that I liked and that was not too common so he wouldn't have to use his initial or be known as the fat one etc at school.

Love Tris as a shortening.

It's a beautiful name and definitely my favourite from your list.
