Opinions on the name?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Skinnermarink · 10/12/2022 20:26

Well I’m a Game of Thrones fan… so no.

toastofthetown · 10/12/2022 20:27

Not a fan. The only time I’ve seen it as first name is Ramsay Bolton which is far from the greatest association. Between that and Gordon, I wouldn’t use Ramsay.

Skinnermarink · 10/12/2022 20:26

Well I’m a Game of Thrones fan… so no.

That makes two of us.

Also too close to Ramses.

Shame, cause I like the way it sounds.

PeekAtYou · 10/12/2022 20:32

Other famous Ramsay would be Gordon. I hope that's not your surname

17CherryTreeLane · 10/12/2022 20:32

Game of thrones is a tiny reference in the grand scheme of things. It's a strong Name. My maiden name, and our sons middle name, and we love it.

DaffyDaffy · 10/12/2022 20:34

Ramsey street is my first thought…?

Readaboutyourself · 10/12/2022 20:35

Gordon
Street

stillvicarinatutu · 10/12/2022 20:35

Was just gonna say as long as your sir name isn't street 😂

gjkufbb · 10/12/2022 20:36

My nephew is called Ramsey. Wasn't keen at first but now I think it really suits him. He often gets called Rammy, or Rams tho

DrMarciaFieldstone · 10/12/2022 20:37

I know a Ramsey… I don’t hate it! It suits him

Spenn · 10/12/2022 20:40

Aaron Ramsey and his curse 😂⚽️

Galarunner · 10/12/2022 20:56

Good name, first labour prime minister Ramsay McDonald if you are interested in politics.

Kanaloa · 10/12/2022 21:00

Bolton & Gordon. Those are my main associations. I also don’t like the ‘ram’ sound.

Judgyjudgy · 10/12/2022 21:08

DaffyDaffy · 10/12/2022 20:34

Ramsey street is my first thought…?

This. Also reminds me of a dog or a butler

Y7drama · 10/12/2022 21:10

I quite like it.

PeaceJoySleep · 10/12/2022 21:13

No

ShakeYourFeathers · 10/12/2022 21:30

No..

Also watched Game of Thrones & also think of Neighbours

Nowthatlovehasperished · 10/12/2022 21:31

I know a Ramsey, it's a great name.

SunshineAndFizz · 10/12/2022 21:32

Personally not a fan of the whole using surnames as first names thing (Jackson, Harrison, Hudson etc.), so I'd say no to Ramsay.

And yes also Ramsay Bolton - was such an outstandingly memorable evil character.

Newbaby1234 · 10/12/2022 21:39

Also a GOT fan, so no from me

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 10/12/2022 21:42

i know a Ramsey. I have an incredibly soft spot for the name, even after 35 years. (I wonder if he's the same guy that the others know?)

RambamThankyouMam · 10/12/2022 21:54

Unbelievably ugly.

bibbiddybobbidyboo · 10/12/2022 22:03

I personally don't think there's anything wrong with Ramsay. It's not to my taste personally as I find it a bit wet like Sebastian or Thomas.

WillMellorsHips · 10/12/2022 22:05

First thought is Gordon. 😬 or it sounds like a Scottish island.

SallyWD · 10/12/2022 22:05

No. It's surname.
