Baby boy names to go with Arthur

Hi, I need some inspiration on baby boy names to go with Arthur who we have already.
we currently have thought about: Harry, Theo Edward/Eddie, Alfie, Albie. Would another name beginning with “A” be a bit strange tho?? We’d like less common names where it’s possible maybe. Thank you

I’d avoid another A. Rather than Edward, which is very popular, how about the more interesting Edgar or Edmund? Or I think Wilf goes well with Arthur.

I think Henry really goes with Arthur.

Mumofgirls2017 · 02/11/2022 11:57

I like Edward and Harry with Arthur. Nice to avoid repeated initials if you can maybe?

I feel the same as you about siblings having the same initial. I like the suggestions of Edmund, William and Frederick (William was my first thought too). It might be a bit out there/dated for you, but I also thought of Geoffrey, which is one of my favourite traditional sounding names.

Dassams · 02/11/2022 12:08

I too like the suggestion of Edmund or how about Wilfred or Quentin? They would go well with Arthur as siblings.

Thank you, really appreciate any ideas people have, I like Edward and Edmund is nice to. Starting to like Henry as well :)

Harry, Theo Edward/Eddie, Alfie, Albie

I'd not use Theo because Theo/Theodore are way too popular, and Arthur and Theo sound a bit lispy together.
Harry is fine but I know a lot of them. Henry goes well with Arthur
Edward/Eddie is great, but you could consider Edwin.
I don't like Alfie or Albie, and two A's are a bit matchy-matchy.

autumn1610 · 02/11/2022 13:01

of you want a not popular name I wouldn’t go with harry or Henry I know a lot of baby boys with these names. Personally I’m if you like the name then it wouldn’t matter to me how popular it was.

Geranium1984 · 02/11/2022 13:01

Alexander, Oscar or Oliver.
Some of the other suggestions might be a bit too many royal/king names in one family.

sopeas · 02/11/2022 13:02

Frederick or Wilfred

You said you'd like less common names, in which case I'd avoid Henry.

Theoldwoman · 02/11/2022 14:32

I personally wouldn’t pick another A name - too mitchy matchy.

Arthur and:

Rupert
Wyndham
Wallace
Cedric
Frederick
Francis

Luredbyapomegranate · 02/11/2022 15:06

I'd avoid another A if possible - and if you want a slightly more unusual name I'd avoid all the ones you list - they are all very overused

Patrick
Ernest
Laurence
Robert
Tobias nn Toby or just Toby
Rufus
Marcus
Guy

Might be possibles

All of the names you have mentioned are in the top 30 so not sure if wanting something less common conflicts with your taste in names?
Less common options:

Arthur and
Robert
Eric
Patrick
Seth
Ralph

I think Arthur and Alfie go really well together!

Does it matter if they share initials, or wouldn't bother me.

PritiPatelsMaker · 03/11/2022 16:22

Arthur & Ralph go lovely together and remind me if my DF and his closet friend Wink

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 03/11/2022 16:24

I have an Arthur and an Oscar. Everyone loved it when we announced oscar as his name :)

metellaestinatrio · 03/11/2022 16:31

The Arthurs I know have brothers called Max and Charlie, but they are both quite popular, as is Henry which I also like. How about Sebastian?
