Yennefer

I love it and my husband loves it and it goes really well with our surname but I can't actually use it can I?

It will just always be associated with The Witcher and look like we are crazy superfans, which we aren't really. But I do think Yennefer is a great, strong character.

Anyone got any similar ideas?

Yep, I instantly think of the Witcher. Sorry Op!

It sounds, like a 2_year old trying to say Jennifer

I haven't heard of the Witcher so made be think of two celebs that have got married, one called Jennifer and the press have nicknamed them Yennefer.

caitlinrose · 25/10/2022 15:47

I actually think it's fine. But I don't know "The Witcher". If the story and character are good and the series is finished then it's fine.

If the series is still going on I would hesitate. Remember what happened to Daenerys!

In general Yennefer is fun to say.

Jennifer is a pretty name but very dated and I dislike Jen.

What about:

Jenna
Jasmine
Yasmine
Guinevere
Genevieve
Ginevra
Virginia
Jessamine

Before I opened the thread I thought ‘the Witcher’. Just go with Jennifer. The Witcher is not even great literature/tv to make it a bit more reasonable.

Sorry, not on a topic but as a massive Sapkowski fan, I cannot just scroll past this...
TV series, agree but to say that the books are not a great literature?! Surely, you didn't read the books!

blameitonthecaffeine · 25/10/2022 19:25

I like it. I haven't seen the Witcher but I would assume it was a foreign version of Jennifer and not think any more of it. I actually think it's nicer than Jennifer.

Your child will never forgive you. She will have a lifetime of correcting people.
